I now know why this property has such excellent reviews. It is simply perfect, and Barbara went above and beyond to ensure we had a great visit. Located on the top floor of a brownstone, the apartment is full of light and very quiet. It is very spacious with the living room at one end and the bedroom at the other end of a long hall. The bed is super comfortable, and the bathroom towels are plush and huge. It's like being at home. The living room has a nice futon that provides another sleeping option as well as a super comfortable chair. The kitchen has nice extras like a Keurig and staples like sugar, tea, coffee and spices. There were even noodles and olive oil in the cabinet, which provided our dinner one snowy, frigid night we didn't feel like getting out. The location is fantastic, just around the corner from the subway, bus stops, Sylvia's, the Red Rooster, CVS, Starbucks and many other restaurants and shops. Barbara went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. On a snowy night when we were unable to get Uber or Lyft to pick us up, she made multiple calls to car services on our behalf. She is warm, generous and accommodating. I've had great past VRBO experiences, but this was head and shoulders above the rest, and the standard for which all others will be held in the future.
We had a great stay. Barbara was a very nice host that made us feel welcome and helped us with a delayed luggage. The apartment was very comfortable and a lovely place to come home to at night. We also enjoyed the neighbourhood immensely. It was our first stay in Harlem and we didn't really know what to expect but it was super safe, very friendly and we felt at home at once. So many great restaurants too! We'll come back!
Well.... what's left to say after reading all previous reviews? I really have no idea.
You know... describing this beautiful apartment or it's fantastic host, Barbara, would be a summary of superlatives, an anthology of all other great reviews.
If I might add one, only one "must do" to the list of do's and don'ts in New York City, it would be a stay at Lenny's Place. This should be enough to convince all you guys who are looking for a place to stay in this great city, to book now. Don't wait too long, book it!
We came for the Governor's Ball music festival (Randall's Island) so this location was very convenient. When we got there, Barbara was ready for us and so pleasant and welcoming. She gave us some good suggestions for nearby things to do and was available for questions throughout the stay, but pretty much left us to do our own thing. We were only a few blocks' walk from several main subway lines a short walk away from Central Park. It was a great trip and we're very thankful that we found Lenny's Place!
Our friendly host, Barbara, was there to greet us with smiles, local information and the best welcome basket ever! The apartment is on the top/third floor and has big windows that open, providing lovely cross breezes and beautiful light. It is tastefully decorated and thoughtfully equipped from the kitchen to the thin table on wheels in the living room where we sat 5 people for dinner! Three of our guests live in NYC and rent apartments there and they all thought the place was fantastic! There are bus and metro stops a block away to take you anywhere you want to go. (We were visiting our son who attends MSM which is a short bus or taxi ride away). A nice little grocery store, The Wild Olive, also has good prepared food and is just around the corner. Try the spinach lasagne heated up with in the ratatouille. Chunk in a couple of meatballs if you like. It was really interesting to explore the neighborhood and see all the historic brownstones, churches, the Apollo and to people watch. We highly recommend "Lenny's Place" if you are visiting NYC, especially if you want to be uptown. It is an excellent choice with excellent value.
First, I want to thank Barbara is a great person, greeted us at the first evening showing great throughout the house in every detail. The house is really nice, spacious and fully equipped (dishes, cookware, towels, linens, tv, wifi, stereo ...) We had the car and it is easy to find parking under the house, one day it snowed and Barbara made ??us free the car from the snow, something really unexpected! In addition 'New Year's Day brought us a bottle of champagne as a gift! What can I say it was a great holiday also because we stayed in a fantastic house! Thanks Barbara, TIP OF all highly recommend this house! The location is convenient by car or by metro (125th).
