This attractive and welcoming stone terraced self-catering cottage is on three floors to make the most of the exceptional views down a tidal creek bordered by woodlands. It is one of eight similar cottages (2 of the others can be rented) in a converted malt house. The property is decorated to a high standard and well-equipped. Guests can enjoy watching the varied bird and water life from the small west-facing balcony and use the private garden and slipway which provides easy access to the creek. There are two car parking spaces opposite the property. Creek View is popular with families during school holidays and with couples and groups of friends at other times. With its proximity to Plymouth, Dartmoor, Cornwall ,water sport centres and excellent beaches there is much to do and see, even when the weather tails off. Guests at Creek View can use the leisure facilities at the Dartmouth Golf & Country Club (jacuzzi, fitness centre, indoor swimming pool and 2 golf courses) at a reduced fee.

Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers face each other on a creek of the beautiful wooded estuary of the River Yealm. The Yealm estuary is a haven for artists, naturalists and yachtsmen with appealing waterside cottages. A colourful variety of sailing dinghies, larger yachts and smaller boats produce a wonderful scene for all who visit. Newton Ferrers is popular with visiting yachtsmen during the summer and together with Noss Mayo boasts several delightful waterside pubs to complete the atmosphere. There is a ferry that connects to the village and the coastal path, offering an unrivaled choice of walks.

Notes: Suitable for active elderly. Would also appeal to couples who want to get away from it all. The main bedroom faces up a tidal creek with wonderful views. Public tennis courts in Noss Mayo. Dinghy/motor boat/rowing boat can be hired. Night storage heaters. Downstairs off 3rd twin-bedded room is a boathouse/storage area (ideal for bicycles, water sports gear etc) with tumble drier. Off-street parking for 2 cars in designated parking spaces in front of property. Two other properties in the Malt houses are available for rent and may be considered if a party bigger than 6 wishes to holiday together. One property sleeps 4 and the other 3. Both have the same views looking up the creek.

Locality: Noss Mayo and its twin Newton Ferrers are picturesque sailing villages at the mouth of the beautiful Yealm estuary 10 miles from Plymouth. There are excellent pubs offering home made food within walking distance. The village shops cater for most needs. Good sandy beaches are within a 10 minute drive. Boat hire is available and fishing and crabbing can be enjoyed on the creek. Access to National Trust Woodlands and the Coastal Path is nearby. Bigbury, Thurlestone and St.Mellion are among several excellent golf couses in the area.

Changeover details: The property is available on a Saturday - Saturday basis. Guests are asked to arrive after 3pm and to depart before 10am.

Alice Cottage, Dartmouth: WE can also recommend ALICE COTTAGE (sleeps 6),former home of Christopher Robin of Winnie the Pooh fame, 5 minutes from Dartmouth and the glorious beach at Blackpool Sands. Some availability March - May. Details from John & Jennifer.

'We really enjoyed our week, the setting was superb'

‘We enjoyed our break very much down in the beautiful village of Noss Mayo. The cottage was very comfortable, the scenery stunning and no doubt we will be in touch in the future with a view to taking another break'

‘ Life is very busy and time flies by at an alarming rate. I think that is why we found Creek View so very special. It was instant relaxation! The view is awesome. The cottage itself is very comfortable with every mod con we could need’

Perfect Peace!

After mastering the narrow lanes, we found ourselves in the village of Noss Mayo and the row of houses called Malthouse. Creek View was the perfect holiday home. Well equipped, beautiful views and spacious. We arrived early and found the owner Mr G. doing a few last minute jobs to ensure our stay was perfect. It was! Naturally any holiday is better when the weather is good, but even the rain didn't 'dampen' the week spent there. 3 good sized bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, bathroom and shower room and a balcony you can sit and watch the world go by - or the river, the ducks/swans/boats/canoeists. We didn't hire a boat, but in hindsight, wished we had, just to explore things by water. Crabbing on the quay was huge fun - especially for the kids, but we adults joined in the fun too! Everyone in the village was really friendly and we would have no hesitation going back to Creek View again. You really do need a car although there is a bus service from Noss which runs to Plymouth, but for your own convenience a car would be preferred.
We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the holiday to anyone who can cope without their mobile phone or internet access for a week - the peace was fabulous - especially as we had two teenage girls!!!

Super holidays at Creek View

Der owner of Creek View,

we had a nice stay at Creek View.
Everything in your cottage was fine and worked properly.
That deserved a big OK.

Further we had beautiful walks through the villages Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers.
With our car, we visited Lands End, Dartmoor Highlands/Forrest and Plymouth.
This all at sunshine weather, but cool temperatures (max. 16°).
In the meantime, when we were not walking or travelling around, we watched the tides at the creek. It was so interesting, to see always new situations, we were never bored.

When travelling home, we had finally a stop at Stonehenge.

So we have seen a lot for one week.

Finaly we have to thank you very much for great holidays.

(As a German, excuse my miserable English)

Best Cottage Holiday yet.

Creek View cottage is in an ideal location and has stunning views of the creek / estuary from the balcony and bedrooms as well as the front garden. After a busy day out you can sit back and enjoy the views.
The cottage is nicely decorated and well appointed with all you need to make it home from home for your stay.
There are enough long walks from the cottage down both sides of the creek and out along along the coast to last a week and we where lucky to find the bluebell and wild garlic woods up above the river Yealm, which were in full bloom. All walks have some steep slopes to negotiate as you leave the cottage so you need be relatively mobile or take a car although parking can be a challenge in both Nos and Newton villages. Pubs provide good food and if the tides out you can cut out some of the walking by crossing over the special walkways but take care they can be slippery. Best cream teas ever at the top of the hill by the village green as you leave Newton Ferrier.
We had glorious weather but even if it had rained we would have enjoyed the stay.
You need to drive with extra care as the roads are very narrow in places.
Our rule is never go back to the same place but we will certainly be booking up Creek View again.

Stunning Location.

Have just come back from a great time at Creek View. Wonderful property with gorgeous river views. Spent many nights on the balcony watching the boats and riverlife. Property is exactly as described and very comfortable. Thoroughly recommended.

We will be returning!!!!!!
