Overview

Beacon Hill Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Cottage, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 1-2)

A lovingly built 200 sq. ft. Cottage with a deck overlooking a peaceful garden.

A gravel driveway leads you to a hidden urban oasis in the middle of a pleasant city block set back from the street.

Our SMALL ABODE is ideal for a SINGLE visitor or a COZY COUPLE. I make no false claims and many a cozy couple have enjoyed regardless. As one guest recently described, 'very European'

KEEP IN MIND, The Cottage is a BED WITH A BATHROOM. The garden separates you from our home, giving you privacy and greenery.

WE DO NOT OFFER A KITCHEN as our Cottage is intended for short stays but we do offer A HOT WATER KETTLE (we provide Starbucks instant coffee), SMALL FRIDGE and T.V.

We also provide WIRELESS INTERNET and PRIVATE PARKING in our driveway.

SMALL and COZY is what we offer and if you simply want a good night's sleep overlooking a pleasant garden, this is the place.

NO SMOKING/ NO SMOKERS, CHILDREN or PETS.

We are GAY, RACE and AGE FRIENDLY and expect that you are too!

I believe there is an unspoken language among respectful travelers that you treat someone's home as if it was your own...

There are vibrant neighborhoods surrounding us offering a great variety of food and entertainment: THE INTERNATIONAL DISTRICT, SODO, DOWNTOWN, GEORGETOWN, COLUMBIA CITY and CAPITAL HILL... All of these 'south of downtown' neighborhoods are great representations of Seattle and easy to access from BEACON HILL.

Please refer to the VIDEO link to give you a clear picture of the Cottage.

We sit in a prime location with transit and freeways in close reach. You can access I-90/I-5 easily from the Cottage.

The #36 bus is a walk across the street and will take you downtown in 20 min.

If you are familiar with South Seattle, we are a few blocks south of the V.A. Hospital.

If you are on FOOT and coming from the AIRPORT, jump on the LIGHT RAIL and get off at the BEACON HILL stop. From there, the Cottage is a short bus ride.

RENTING A CAR: 15-20 minute drive (depending on traffic) from the airport to the Cottage.

Driving Downtown from the Cottage is no more than 10 minutes but it depends on where you plan to go. Like any big city, you have to consider high volume traffic and parking.

ARRIVING ON AMTRAK: A simple walk up to JACKSON ST. and hopping on the #36 going south. It'll drop you within steps of the cottage.

Keywords: Cottage with bed and bathroom.

About Mary

I love gardening and the cottage is surrounded by my efforts of creating a nest of greenery that puts the city at bay while you nestle in for a pleasant urban experience.

Why Mary chose Beacon Hill

Seattle is a great City and I'm happy to show it off from the perspective of a proud home owner and a seasoned traveler. Seeing the interior of a place through a cozy neighborhood makes a more relaxing and memorable trip.

What makes this cottage unique

We live near Jefferson Park which is an easy walk (1.5 miles) from the cottage. It has gone through an incredible renovation and expansion! We are proud to showcase a basketball court, 4 tennis courts, skateboard park and a children's play area.

There are incredible views of the city including parts of the Olympic mountain range. As of 1/14, Jefferson Park Golf Course/Driving range has been torn down and a new facility is in the making.

Loved It!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I loved being at the Beacon Hill Cottage! Mary has created such a comfortable cottage with all the little details so well thought out! All the information that she provided got us up and exploring Seattle with ease and confidence! I want to go back just to stay at this cottage again and visit with Mary (and see more of the Seattle area)!

Beautiful little home away from home

  • 5 of 5
We stayed three nights at Mary's cottage while visiting Seattle and loved it. The cottage is adorable and a lot of thought was put into making it comfortable. From the high quality mattress and linens, to the complimentary beverages, to the shampoo and body wash, to the multiple binders filled with tourist information, nothing was overlooked. We enjoyed breakfast in the morning and then a glass of wine in the evening out on the little deck. We felt we had plenty of privacy but were also happy to get a chance to visit with Mary who was a pleasure to talk to and made us feel very welcome. She also made some great restaurant recommendations. Thanks also to Bonnie for giving us the best parking space. The location was perfect for our trips to downtown, to the Mariners game and for a day of hiking at Mount Ranier. We would definitely stay here again anytime we are in the area. Thanks!!!

Cozy, convenient cottage!

  • 5 of 5
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very clean and cozy little cottage. Mary was delightful and quite helpful! We greatly appreciated having refreshing beverages stocked in the mini fridge. Not only was the cottage charming....the garden outside was lovely, as well! We loved entering through the antique iron garden gates, each day.
The small cottage served as a relaxing retreat after busy days visiting with family. Perfect for our needs!

Amazing Cottage!

  • 5 of 5
Mary's cottage was nothing short of AMAZING! My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the cottage and were very blessed to get to know Mary. Her warm personality definitely makes for a better stay. I would pick this cottage over any hotel in Washington any day. The garden is also very beautiful and sitting on the patio enjoying the day/evening while getting to know your hostess is AWESOME!

Fantastic little cottage in the heart of the city

  • 5 of 5
Mary's cottage is a quiet little getaway that gives you your own little space in the heart of the city. Since it's a stand-alone building, you don't have to deal with any noisy neighbors. The bed is super comfy and Mary is a great hostess. I stayed here for a month as I relocated from abroad and I can definitely say that it beats any corporate housing I’ve used in the past.

Peaceful, Concientious, and Special Retreat

  • 5 of 5
I will probably NEVER stay in another place in Seattle. We were pleased with this find (and the owners) long before we even arrived. The reservation process was simple and the owners unflinchingly trusting, which was so refreshing. We were traveling from two states away and my health was questionable, but never once did I worry that I would lose money or be scorned if I had to cancel last minute. Once there, we were delighted by the garden, the birds that flew through, the peacefulness of south Beacon Hill, and even better, the alignment of our values as demonstrated by the contents of the tiny house: cruelty-free, organic, healthy bath products; guides to neighborhoods and breweries (in binders), reusable dishes with quick and easy VIA coffee packets, simplicity in decor and construction, a comfortable bed with well cared for linens, extras that were wonderful and surprising find (that you can find yourself), and everything we could possibly need to live in a home that was no our own for four days. We are THRILLED to have found this gem, and we hope you don't reserve it when we need it. But, if you've found it, lucky you. Get it while you can.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for making our wedding weekend complete with a wonderful place to stay, and with wonderful new friends in which to share it. You two are a delight.

Owner's Response: I teared up reading your review and your sentiments are truly felt at the heart level! I can't think of a greater compliment, of you feeling safe and that your needs were met. Your bravery and spirit are inspirational, that you traveled in your condition and that we had the honor of meeting you and being the place you landed. I feel part of your story, your union that you turned into a marriage! I feel fortunate to able to provide my cottage to an array of incredible people who walk through our gate. Words are powerful and yours truly stirred me up inside. I tried to choose the right words to describe a stay here and your comment reassures me that I have succeeded in drawing wonderful souls! Please come back again and again. Your words are of a friend and we happily accept and will return friendship at every chance!
