Big Sur is a remote isolated area on a rocky coast, with redwood-lined canyons. The banana belt climate helps the citrus trees at my place, called Bali Hai. The community of Big Sur has several inns, including the Post Ranch Inn, the Ventana Inn, Deetjens Big Sur Inn, with gourmet restaurants. Big Sur has several art galleries, most in association with 5 star restaurants at the Inns, or by Nepenthe, or the River Inn. There are two beaches for hiking; Andrew Molera Beach and Sycamore Canyon Pfeiffer Beach. My home is for relaxing and retreating from the cares of the world. Two miles south you can get a great massage at the Esalen Institute. My home is full of books and records, and you can stay in contact with the world with satellite TV and Wi-fi. There is easy access from Highway One. We are one (1) mile south of the Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park, where McVay Canyon has a waterfall directly into the ocean in a secluded cove.
