Photos and Description of the Harbor Springs vacation house rental
3 bedrooms, 2 bath, modern kitchen, great room for family fun - nearby beaches

Nature's Cathedral Home is just a few miles north of historic Harbor Springs and minutes from the white sand beaches of Lake Michigan. The ultimate in quiet, private surroundings, this must see - and must visit - home is fully furnished with all the amenities of a new home. Everything is new and we keep it that way for our guests to enjoy. As a matter of fact, please read the reviews we get and you'll see what makes Nature's Cathedral Home special and The Place to stay!

Available year round for summer, fall or winter experiences. Walk through the woods on your private trail and you'll come to a large clearing that opens up on a 'Golden Pond' like view of Wycamp Lake. You're on state land now so feel free to put in your kayak or canoe and paddle this beautiful, sparkling lake. Or a short walk or drive takes you to the beautiful beaches of Sturgeon Bay and Lake Michigan. Nearby Sturgeon Bay was voted the #2 beach in northern Michigan; we’re prejudice and think it is #1 because of its clear and shallow waters and white beach sand. You can walk for 15+ miles on the shore, which is state-owned. And don’t forget the abundance of nearby golf courses, restaurants, and cities of Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Charlevoix and Mackinac Island.

The home is built of white pine timbers, constructed using ancient barn-building techniques. Three bedrooms, 2 baths, rec room, modern kitchen, great room with fireplace. Completely furnished with everything you need - dishes, linens, paper products, etc. Nature's Cathedral Home is a place to make memories!

The master bedroom (king bed) includes a walk-in closet and separate master bath - all off the main floor. The lower level features one bedroom with queen-size bed, a second bedroom with two twins, a full size bathroom, washer and dryer, and a recreation room. There is plenty of room for your family and friends to spread out and enjoy themselves.

Entertainment and Recreation

If you're looking for recreation and entertainment, you'll find it in northern Michigan. Harbor Springs, Petoskey, Charlevoix and many other small towns are within easy driving distance from Nature's Cathedral Home. A ferry ride to nearby Mackinac Island is a must!

Harbor Springs and Petoskey have excellent restaurants; some of our favorites are The New York, Chandler's, Twisted Olive (great breakfasts, lunches and dinners), Turkey's and several others. And, while you're in Cross Village you have to visit Leg's Inn (open seasonally) and enjoy dining outside in the garden and watching the freighters from high above a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan and the Big Mac Bridge in the background. We love giving our guests recommendations so just ask!

Let us know what you're interested in and we'll help you plan your vacation!

Perfect Winter Vacation

5 of 5
Submitted: February 11, 2013 Stayed: February 2013
We had the perfect winter vacation! From the first contact with Dianne, she was quick to respond and so pleasant to communicate with about all details. I had lived in Harbor Springs most of my life and missed the beautiful snow and winter sports. I wanted my husband to experience it. Dianne realized he is an amateur astronomer and informed us about the nearby, Headlands, a designated dark sky park. He was thrilled and brought along his telescope.

We arrived just after dark; however the directions Dianne emailed were easy and exact. She was even available by phone if we needed it. When we arrived, the entry had been plowed and shoveled clean. We were delighted with the beauty of the square log home and the cozy fire. It was exactly as pictured and imagined-an architectural gem; the night sky was even more marvelous than we had hoped. Dianne and Boo called to welcome us and to make sure we were without needs or questions. There were maps and area information, trail guides for cross country skiing, and even a birthday card and flowers! Along with us arriving, twenty-four inches of snow fell. It looked like fairyland and reminded me of my childhood in the area.

We relished the peace and quiet, enjoyed the snowshoeing and skiing around Wycamp Lake. Then when tired, we watched the snowflakes softly falling outside as we sat by the fire in the evening. It was as if we were in a lovely snow globe, yet toasty warm.

The cabin lent itself to easy entertaining. We hosted two dinner parties and shared with old friends. We went to Nubs to ski. Our daughter and grand daughter joined us for the following weekend. Our six year old grand daughter immediately feel in love with the loft. During the day she snowshoes and built a snow fort. She stayed outside in the sunshine almost all day.

We could not have felt more welcomed, more at home in the beautiful cabin nor relaxed more together, with the peace and quiet we desired. Now we plan to enjoy returning for a week each season. Thank you Dianne and Boo for a perfect week!
Owner's Response: Victoria and Christopher, we are glad you had a great time and were able to experience Nature's Cathedral Home in all its glory - snow, sunshine, and a great place to relax and entertain. We look forward to hosting you again this fall - and welcome you back any time!

"EXCELLENT" in every aspect, the family had a great time, the only regret we had to leave so soon.
Thanks for the great memory's
Owner's Response: Thanks for staying with us! We enjoy having people leave wanting more...and there is so much to see and visit right from our centrally located home north of Harbor Springs and within easy distance to Petoskey, Charlevoix, Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island - as well as just hanging out at nearby Sturgeon Bay. Sturgeon Bay was voted the #2 beach in northern Michigan; however, we think it's #1. Come back soon! Nature's Cathedral Home is a year-round home so plan now for your fall or winter vacation. The trees are spectacular, driving or biking the Tunnel of Trees a must, golf is still great, and in the winter we are very, very close to Boyne Highlands and Nub's Nob for downhill or cross-country skiing!

Absolutely beautiful! The home surpassed our expectations. It was immaculate. The layout was perfect for a group of 8 which included 4 kids ranging in ages from 4-12. The homeowners were accommodating and provided anything and everything you would require for your stay. There are multiple beaches within miles. City attractions required some driving, but the luxury was that within 25 miles in each direction you had Harbor Springs, and Mackinaw City. One warning... In our group we had 3 different cell phone providers (Verizon, Sprint, and At&t) and not one of us had any cell phone or iPad reception. We will forver remember our lovely vacation in this cabin! Thank you Diane and Boo.

Harbor Springs Log Home

We had a spectacular long winter weekend at this lovely home recently! This cottage is well appointed, was perfectly clean, the grounds are absolutely beautiful and the driveway back to the home is lined with pines. We would highly recommend this property to anyone who enjoys vacationing in northern Michigan. We prefer vacation homes over hotels/motels when travelling with our family and this one was cozy and just perfect for us. We loved having a fire in the wood stove every day. The owners are friendly and eager to please, too! Enjoy!

Beautiful Log Home/Immaculately Clean

5 of 5
Submitted: July 15, 2011 Stayed: July 2011
As we walked in the front door I heard my wife say "oh wow"!

This log home is beautifully built, immaculately clean, and wonderfully appointed. Everything you'll need is there except the groceries. Located well off the roadway, the site is quiet and private.

We rode our bikes on the Little Traverse Wheelway from Petoskey to Charlevoix and the scenery was worth the entire trip. The paved bike path takes you through wooded sections and along the Lake Michigan shoreline (see more trail info at traillinks.com) .

We would recommend treating yourself to dinner at the Legs Inn located in Cross Village. A bit of an attraction in itself, the restaurant features American and Polish cuisine. If the weather allows, eat outside with an absolutely stunning Lake view.

All-in-all, I can't say enough about the property or the owners who checked in to ask if we needed anything. They are genuinely concerned that you have a great stay. How can you not?
