We are located approximately 50 feet from the boundary of MacKerricher Beach State Park on an acre of sand dunes on Ward Ave just 3 miles north of the town of Fort Bragg. Unlike many, if not most, of the houses on the North Coast we are at beach level and just (2)minutes from the sand and miles of walkable beach. One can walk the uncrowded beach north to Inglenook Fen or south on the old logging 'Haul Road' through MacKerricher all the way into town. The view from the house south is of 'Laguna Point' which is a prime spot for viewing sea lions and migrating whales.
The house is a classic beach house. It is not fancy but has everything one needs. We have loved it for 40 years because of its location and casual comfort. It is great for children and grandchildren who love the easy access to the sand, the large wraparound deck and sleeping in the loft. Please note the sleeping accomodations: We have just completed an addition of a second bedroom. The original bedroom has a new, queen, memoryfoam bed; the new bedroom has a new queen bed; the den has a queen hide-a-bed; and the loft has two queen beds side by side and one single bed.
The kitchen is fully equipped and there is cable TV, DVD/VCR and small stereo with i-pod dock for those that want them. WE NOW HAVE WIRELESS INTERNET.

"I can't imagine a better week! The kitchen had everything we needed, there were plenty of beds and blankets, great family movies, showers were hot & toilets flushed, and the beach was across the street. We flew your kite, rode our bikes and walked our dog every day and night. The location is amazing! The state park and beaches are clean. Great local grocery stores. It was very relaxing and like home. I hope we cared for your home,as you would have. So, thank you."
I own this house with my sisters. We inherited it from our parents who lived in it for 15 years after Dad retired. My folks chose the location for its beauty and historical ties. My grandfather learned his trade as a saw filer in the old Fort Bragg lumber mill and my great-grandfather was killed in the nearby woods in a logging accident over 100 years ago.
