Granada, once known as La Gran Sultana because of its beauty and location on the lake, is just the right spot for Casa La Gran Sultana. This home is located 2 blocks from the Parque Central and is walking distance from popular restaurants, shops and museums. The home was totally rebuilt in 2002, maintaining the colonial style, by one of the leading colonial architects in Nicaragua. In august 2011, we have added a pool into the patio of the house and integrated it into the fountain that was previously installed. The result is just great! The garden has been rebuilt completely.
Casa La Gran Sultana is definitely GRAND. The home opens to a wide corridor with additional seating and a beautiful garden area. The garden has a beautiful fountain which attracts many birds, including a variety of hummingbirds. Along the corridor you will find two comfortable bedrooms with a large connecting bath. The kitchen is located at the center of the home between the two outer gardens. It is spacious and has everything you need to prepare a meal or just a simple snack. A third bedroom is located in the back garden area and has bunk style twin beds and a full bath.
Upstairs, not only is the view spectacular but the two large bedrooms open onto the patio. The master bedroom has air conditioning, a private bath, king bed and large closet. The second upstairs room has a private bath, one full bed, a twin bed and a ceiling fan. The antique wood staircase and wood floors not only are beautiful but will take you back in time when things were just a bit simpler.
Important: There is a water tank at the back of the house to ensure a smooth in-house consumption.

This place was fabulous. You have so much privacy, but you are really about a one minute walk from the central park in Granada. The location alone makes this place worth every penny, but the house is beautiful too. Everything is very clean, and Bhelia the property manager was so friendly and helpful. Everyone was a pleasure to deal with. This place will ensure a great stay in Granada!
Plenty of room and that authentic Granada home feel. Thanks again!
I am French. Back in 1985, I spent 18 months in Nicaragua, working to develop alternative energy sourcing in Ometepe, the main island in the Nicaragua lake. In 1988 I married a Granada young lady, and 5 children came. Since then we come back whenever we can.
If you are looking for an authentic place, provided you are ready to look and listen, Granada is the place to stay.
