|Minimum Stay||7 - 10 nights|
Grab your steaming coffee and sit out on the deck and enjoy the early morning sounds of life all around you. Birds singing, deer munching away, and rabbits and rough grouse looking for food. There have even been sightings of black beer, moose and elk. Watch the sun rise, touching the mountain peaks and spreading golden rays down the valley. Let the peace and serenity enter your being before you begin your day of adventure.
And adventure there certainly is!! Whether you head down to float the Yellowstone River, plan a guided fishing trip, hiking in Yellowstone Park, soaking at Chico Hot Springs, or just heading over to Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman--everyday will be an adventure here in Montana, the Last Best Place to visit. There are fine restaurants nearby, and galleries and shopping galore.
A curved cherry entry way door leads you into an enchanting space that has a warm and welcoming Southwest flavor to it. The rounded glass front of this unique home surrounds a central sunken kiva seating area. A large stuccoed wood fireplace overlooks this kiva and the hand painted (by artist owner) floor. The floor painting exhibits the phases of the moon and the 12 zodiac signs. Surrounding the kiva are additional seating spaces to look out at the panoramic views. There is also a convenient kitchen nook and dining table. A large separate pantry has a lot of extra storage space. A full bath with corner soaking tub and separate shower is just down a short hall from the kitchen. In the back is a laundry room and entryway to the lower 'sun' room i.e. bedroom. This room has a queen bed, small couch and chair, and an entertainment center with large TV (DVD capabilities).*The home has energy-efficient radiant floor heating on the lower level and wall units on the upper level.
Meanwhile, up a large open stairway adorned with dried beach wood, you enter the 'treehouse' balcony that overlooks the kiva. It features a full-size log tree that starts at the kiva and goes up to the vaulted wood ceiling. This treehouse is a perfect little office nook for checking your emails or just curling up to read a book.
A curved entryway into the upstairs bedroom suite is a large open area (half bedroom and half a full entertainment area.) The bed is Queen and there is an additional double futon for extra guests or children. This space also has a TV (DVD/VCR) with VCR library and a game table and bar/bar sink. Another full bath/shower is just off the bedroom. A French Door leads to a private deck for gazing up a those amazing stars/planets and moon.
Then, when your day is complete, come home to make a fire in the Southwestern style kiva fireplace, sit with a glass of wine and watch the sun complete its cycle. You will delight in the beauty of this home and the unique artistic features. Pictures say a thousand words, so just browse through and delight in this gem of a home.
The garage sets separate from the house and has room for 2 vehicles. However, some of that space is taken up by maintenance equipment so ideally just one vehicle can be parked inside. There is plenty of parking in front of the main entrance to the house. The garage studio over the garage is currently not available and is being used just for the owners. If it is absolutely necessary this area can be rented for an additional fee (there are 3 beds available plus small kitchen and living area all in one, big room).
Come and experience the serenity and nurturing quality of this special retreat in the Montana mountains. You will fall in love with this beautiful place!!!

I grew up in Minnesota and moved to Montana in the 90's. Fell in love with Montana and stayed. I found this acreage after recognizing it from a dream I had. I saw myself on a deck looking down at this stunning view. I bought it on the spot and started building my dream home the following summer and finishing it the following February. The garage/studio was built 2 years later. I intended this to be my primary residence and the last place I retire to. My life changed a bit i.e. married a Texas boy, and now I am opening up this precious place so that others can feel the peaceful healing of this Montana home.
Jane Wise purchased this house in 2002
This home was designed by me. I am an artist by birth and so there are many unique artistic touches in this home that will delight you. I built it intending to live there but circumstances have removed me from the area. It made sense to rent this out so that others can enjoy the peace and beauty of this sanctuary.
Birds singing in the morning, deer wandering by outside my windows, grouse walking through the gardens, beautiful sunrises and starry nights from my bedroom balcony, panoramic views down to nearby Livingston, and the Paradise Valley entryway. A sense of peace and serenity abounding....
My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon to Yellowstone. The drive was around an hour to get to Yellowstone, but this house was a great compromise to make up for the drive. It has some beautiful views off the deck that really have to be seen in person to appreciate. As for the kitchen and all other essentials...this house is very well stocked. Buy some groceries and you are set. The use of the garage is a very nice touch as well. The house is private even though it is in a neighborhood of sorts. Also, owner was very pleasant and dealt with all the concerns/questions that we had. Overall, I would highly recommend this rental.
I've been going to Montana every summer for the past 20 years. I usually stay with my parents but this summer I got married and needed a romantic quiet place for our honeymoon. Angela's Summit was perfect in every way. The location was perfect. It was secluded with amazing views yet close to Livingston and Bozeman. It was cvery clean which is important! We were very comfortable in the house. There is unique furniture, a conversation pit with fire place, nice seating outside on several patios, great kitchen, very comfy beds with nice bedding and from every single place, there are the beautiful views! A lot of thought was put into the planning of the house framing the views out all windows. It made it very peaceful. I really hope to go back. Anniversary weekend would be heavenly!
My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Angel's Summit. The house itself is warm, open, and has plenty of space for a large group to comfortably stay. We spent a lot of time on the deck enjoying the view of the Absarokas from the porch swing, Adirondack chairs, and hot tub. The kitchen was great, and we had plenty of places to eat outside (picnic table and covered deck above the garage) and in the house. A couple things to note: The sunk-in kiva is beautiful but somewhat of a tripping hazard for those who may have toddlers in their party. The walkway around the kiva is somewhat narrow and one of the people in our party actually slipped and fell into it (one foot went off the edge). Nobody was hurt, but I could see it as a potential hazard for youngsters. Also, if you're a light sleeper, bring your earplugs as the nearby train makes multiple trips around bed time. Other than that, we had a fantastic, relaxing, beautiful weekend in this glorious home. And, the owner was a pleasure to work with!
My wife and three children of 11, 12, and 13 thought this place was incredible. Incredible view, crisp clean air, wild life near the house. To say the property was incredible would be insulting. Attention to detail, design thought and comfort was taken when it comes to Angel's Summit. As long as everyone used common sense this is an incredible property to rent and my family has already asked when we can rent again. My intention is to do just that. This is great for several couples for a retreat or a larger family such as mine.
