Lake Nacimiento House Rental Photos and Description
House, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2.5+ Baths, (Sleeps 8-14)
This is a perfect house for large groups or families - with a great room that overlooks the lake and three outdoor living spaces. One is a detached hot tub deck for sunbathing that overlooks both the lake and our vineyard, and the other two are attached to the home and each include outdoor seating for 10. We call them the breakfast deck and the dinner deck, (because of where the sun rises and sets) - but we have also had 24 for dinner at the two tables! The deck off the kitchen is permanently covered, and the deck off the great room includes an automated, retractable awning that keeps it cool during the day, but open for star gazing at night.
Also on one of the decks is a comfortable lounger for two, that makes a comfortable full-size bed for those who like to sleep under the stars. (Not included in bed count.) And the stars don't get brighter than they do here on the north shore of Lake Nacimiento. We keep a good telescope in the house, and will leave it out on request. (Otherwise it gets stored in the owner's closet.)
The master suite is spacious and can accommodate an entire family. We converted one of the walk-in closets to a "bunk room" that give small children their own "space." There is a private deck off the master with its own lake view for alone time in the morning or evening. The hot tub is rated for six people, and offers a stunning view of the lake while you soak. The free-standing hot-tub deck includes an outdoor shower and a hammock below.
The kitchen is spacious and well-appointed with everything you need to feed your group. There is a gas barbecue right outside the kitchen door, and a separate wet bar in the living room with its own sink and icemaker. Between coolers and cocktails, you can never have too much ice at a lake house!
The living room includes a futon couch that becomes a full-size bed, and a futon chair that becomes a twin bed. Both are very comfortable, and were replaced last year. Three bedrooms have queen-size beds, and the fourth bedroom has two twin beds, or can be converted to a king size bed on request. There is also a fold-out bed in the closet that fits easily in the room.
The yard is fully-fenced and we are pet-friendly. We ask that you keep your dogs out of the vineyard, however.

We're urbanites who live in downtown San Jose during the week, and anywhere else on the weekend. We have spent most every weekend at the lake during the season for the last 10 years, and have finally decided to place it on the rental market this year so we can do some traveling.
We love Lake Nacimiento, and have been making weekend visits here with our boat for several years before deciding to buy a place. We chose Oak Shores for its easy access, good roads (we were surprised at how many homes on the lake were reachable only by unpaved roads), and many amenities. After making several visits to look at houses, we saw this one on the quiet side of the community, and fell in love with the view and all the outdoor living space. The kitchen needed to be remodeled (circa 1975), and we did that right away. We did not intend for this to be a vacation rental when we bought it, so it's not furnished like a hotel room. This is our weekend home, and we are looking forward to sharing it with others.
We spend almost every night that we're here in the hot tub watching the stars. We have had great dinner parties out on the deck, and always have a grape-picking party in the Fall. Most of our time, however, is spent on the lake. One thing about "Naci" (as the locals call it), even on a crowded summer weekend, you can always find some little cove to anchor your boat in where the fish are biting, and you can spend all day floating on an air mattress.
