Even Monet would be jealous of the light and the gardens. This unique atelier, located on the ground floor off of the serene second courtyard, has a wall of windows the length of the apartment. The ground floor location makes it easy to move in and out whether you are lugging suitcases or juggling a baguette and a bottle of wine. You'll enjoy the spacious kitchen while relaxing with your morning cafe au lait and croissant. Buy your croissant from Le Moulin de la Vierge, just around the corner on rue Saint Dominique, a bustling and charming venue for cafes and boutiques. Then head to your local market, which by the way, is the world famous rue Cler. Rue Cler is truly a feast for all your senses where everything from flowers to foie gras is at your fingertips. A must 'detour' is to Stephane Secco on rue Jean Nicot--better bread may not exist anywhere.

Additional Sites: Turn right out of the apartment and within 5 minutes you'll enter the Esplanade des Invalides, one of the city's largest open spaces. Sit on a bench and learn a thing or two about boules from the old-timers or just take in the breathtaking Hotel des Invalides with the golden dome of Napoleon's tomb in the background or the glass-domed Grand Palais. Cross the river Seine from here and you find yourself on one of the most beautiful bridges in Paris, the Pont Alexander III--watch for the white limos and wedding gowns as many couples use this romantic backdrop to memorialize their special day. Just a bit further on is the Champs Elysees anchored at one end by the Arc de Triomphe. Yes, Paris is at your fingertips from your atelier on the rue de l'Universite.

In the Heart of the Coveted and Charming 7th Arrondissement. So put your suitcases down and hop on the No. 69 bus (from rue Saint Dominique) for a tour of Paris. This bus passes so many landmarks that it is a sightseeing excursion in itself--see the Musee D'Orsay, the Louvre, the Hotel de Ville, the Bastille, Pere LaChaise cemetary and more. If you have a walk in mind, you won't be disappointed with your location. Turn left out of the apartment and head to the Champs de Mars with its gardens, pony rides, puppet shows and carousels. And, oh yes, the magnificent Eiffel Tower looms at one end. Be sure to be there on the hour beginning at 10pm in the summer to see the tower sparkle like millions of champagne bubbles--you might take a little of your own bubbly and a picnic along with you.

Notes: From the sofa in the living room, you can savor a glass of wine while looking at the lovely mimosa tree in the courtyard. There is unlimited free calling to landlines and cell phones in North America and Hawaii and to landlines in Europe--so you can share your little piece of Paris with friends back home. You can also keep in touch using the wireless internet; and in the event of a rainy day or if you develop a case of tired fee, there is cable TV. Conveniences like a washer/dryer, iron and ironing board and hair dryer are supplemented with amenities like guide books, umbrellas and an alarm clock to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We had a very nice stay in this apartment. It is small but nice in Paris standards. My daughter and I are on a special gluten free diet and had to cook often while there. The kitchen was nice with an oven and microwave and glass cooktop. The electricity cut off several times while we were there when we used the oven and stovetop. David the manager said it was due to the extra power the heaters took while we were there it was very cold so we needed the heaters. It just took flipping a switch to fix it.David was so helpful and nice and was always available to answer our questions when we needed help or directions. It is in a great location for those who want to walk to the Rue Cler area or to the metro . It is just down the street from the Eiffel Tower and many other attractions.Thanks for the nice stay!

Enjoyed our stay in this ground floor apartment opening on a beautiful courtyard. The location was perfect. the Eiffel tower and Seine were a short walk away. The apartment had everything we needed and very clean. We called Olivia in Paris on arrival and we were met promptly at the apartment.

Wonderful experience

What a great place. We stayed a number of nights (my wife and 2 older children) and had a remarkable time. We are a family of walkers and found our way around to Rue de Cler, Eifel Tower, Notre Dame, Arc de Triumph, the Louvre, Invalides, the Seine and much more all just outside the doors. Comfy place, nice courtyard, safe feel. We would consider a return. One negative was with the booking agent, Bonnie, in Chicago, who never informed us that our Paris contact with the apartment keys changed. My diligence was how we discovered what could have been a big problem.
