Relax in this beautifully maintained traditional cottage that is located on a quiet spot on the western shore of S. Lake Leelanau. There is a beach and dock (to hook up your boat), as well as the use of a kayak, canoe and paddleboat. The landscaping around the cottage is gorgeous, and the patio is a perfect spot to enjoy your meals while taking in the lovely view of the lake. There also is an outdoor fireplace on the patio.

This cottage has four bedrooms and comfortably sleeps eight (2 queen and 4 twin beds). There are two full baths, a spacious living room with a bay window overlooking the lake, plus a large fully equipped kitchen and an inside washer and dryer. Both bathrooms and the kitchen have recently been remodeled.

The incredible natural beauty of Leelanau County makes this a popular vacation spot. All ages can find much to do - visit Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, canoe or kayak down a river, bike around the beautiful country roads, hike the many spectacular trails, take a ferry to the Manitou Islands, enjoy many gorgeous beaches, explore wine country, as well as, great restaurants, shopping and art fairs. Lake Leelanau is 23 miles long and is delightful for boating, with or without a motor. The lake doesn't get too crowded so water sports can easily be enjoyed - skiing, tubing, jet skiing, fishing, sailing and more.

While there is much to do in the area, you will want to spend time at the cottage. The beach and dock offer both sun and shade. The beach has plenty of room for kids to play. There is a large yard for lots of space to play games (badminton or croquet,) and a swing set. This cottage offers fun and relaxing times in a beautiful setting.

About The Owner

I have stayed at this cottage every summer since I was born. The cottage and all of Leelanau County are incredibly beautiful. I grew up with cousins who stayed in cottages nearby, so we all have many wonderful memories of growing together in this paradise. We continue to make more memories. I am an artist (mostly landscapes) and Leelanau County has always been a tremendous source of inspiration.

The Owner purchased this cottage in 1929
Why The Owner chose Lake Leelanau

This cottage was built by my great grand father. My children are the fifth generation to enjoy it.

What makes this cottage unique

The piece of land the cottage is on is so gorgeous. We have 133' of lake front and the view is wonderful. It's a very quiet and tranquil spot. Having easy access to so many things to do has always kept our time there interesting and fun. More recently, I have gotten into kayaking and I think Lake Leelanau is a great place to do it.

My family and I stayed here a couple weeks ago. The cottage is older but well maintained. The owner went out of her way to make us feel at home. We extremely enjoyed use of the pedal boat, canoe and kayak. The location is perfect. It's only miles from several wineries, the Grand Traverse Casino, and numerous little shops and restaurants. Sleep Bear Sand Dunes is only a short drive away and well worth a visit. If you are looking for a nice quiet family vacation I highly recommend this cottage.

Fun family vacation rental

We spent a week here in mid-September and had a wonderful time. The cottage is really more of a house, it's quite spacious. The property is beautifully landscaped with a great yard for our son to play in. The cottage is located along a portion of the lake with a no-wake zone so there were no loud boats zooming past, although within minutes we could be out in the main part of the lake for wakeboarding or waterskiing. Susan, the owner, was very welcoming and helpful. We would highly recommend this property.

Classic cottage perfect for our family of four. Comfortable beds; living area and grounds are very well cared for. Nice to sit out on the dock in the morning sun; lots of shade in the yard. We appreciated the use of the canoe and kayak; the kids enjoyed the paddle boat. Excellent location close to Suttons Bay, Leland and Lake Michigan. We will definitely return.

Great Vacation Rental!

Our family had a wonderful vacation at this location. The listing description was accurate. The home was so clean and inviting. We were very comfortable staying there. The owner was very helpful and gave us a tour when we arrived. We loved watching the sunrise, sitting on the dock with our coffee. We enjoyed having our family meals out on the patio. Two of the nights, we enjoyed a campfire in the portable Coleman fire pit that was out on the patio. Our family used the paddleboat, kayak and canoe to enjoy exploring beautiful Lake Leelanau. The lake water was very clear and warm. There is a small beach area with beach toys available for the kids. Overall, we would recommend this property to our friends and family. We are planning to return next year!
