Guestbook comments from the owner

I cannot begin to tell you how much we enjoyed our visit in your lovely mountain home! It is more lovely than we could have imagined, and the internet does not do it justice. Our visit to Montana was more enjoyable than last time, and we did a lot more than three years ago. We contribute most of that to where we stayed! We rented a raft and floated down the Flathead, road horses at Many Glacier, hiked to Avalanche Falls and Hidden Lakes, went to Polebridge (one of our favorite places) twice, saw bears, a moose, eagles, ground squirrels, chipmunks, many many hummingbirds, beavers. I could go on and on!!

An awesome place in glorious big sky country!

  • 5 of 5

Wow! This was such a great cabin. About the only thing that pulled us away was Glacier National Park. This cabin was everything we were looking for in a top of the line Montana vacation rental. When we weren't at Glacier, we were on the porch watching the beautiful Flathead River roll by. If you like to raft or kayak, there is ample opportunity to do so, literally right out your back door. There are several boat launches up the road, and you can float right up to the cabin! Speaking of the cabin, it is a living example of someone's dream log cabin. I kept hearing my brother-in-law, a retired carpenter, exclaiming "wow!" The cabin is perfectly decorated and it's obvious the owners cherish it. Lucky Dogs! Thanks for sharing your place!

Owner's Response: Thanks for you review. We appreciate people that love the cabin as much as we do. And that for the compliment on the construction of the cabin also. It was a labor of love for a couple of years and we continue to do things that make it a special place for our guests and our family

Love At First Sight!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at The Glacier Chalet from Sept 8-15th 2014. We Loooooooved the cabin and location. Lots of wildlife sightings daily. Easy drive to Glacier National Park. Watched the resident beaver collect "groceries" daily and take them into her lodge. Saw a black bear swim across the river.......Twice! Saw an elk herd cross the river, saw plenty of deer, and watching the chipmunks daily was a laughfest! The cabin is beautiful and very comfortable. The owner was very informative about the area and answered every question we had. Thank you very much for that! We will definitely be back to stay again at this cabin!!!!

Grandpa vacation

Lovely home. Provided plenty of space for 6 adults and one baby (crib provided). Easy 30 miles to Whitefish for shopping. We were there end of June, weather 75 everyday. lots of wild life, hiking and site seeing. But at the end of the day, we all wanted to get back to this Cabin to start a fire and watch the river go by. Moose and bear crossing at nite. Water too high for fishing. If We would go back we would stay here again, without a doubt. You will need a car to get around. Owner available by phone and lives near by for problem solving, but we did not have any.

Stay at the Glacier Chalet

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at your property was a wonderful time to enjoy the peace and quiet. Although the park was closed, we enjoyed looking at it from across the river. Would recommend this property to other friends and family. The chalet was very clean and very well kept. Thank you for sharing with us.

Perfect place for our family

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed staying here! It truly "wowed" us and we loved it. The cabin was clean, spacious and comfortable. In fact, it was better in real life than in the pictures. Within 30 minutes of our arrival, all three of my teenage boys independently hugged me and told me thanks for finding such a neat place for our vacation. We spent a lot of time on the back porch looking at the river or else playing at the river. My young daughter spent hours skipping rocks on the river. My husband, who is an early riser, woke each morning to watch the sunrise on the river. He is a go, go, go person in regular life and he loved the peace and tranquility found at the cabin.

We stayed here 4 days while we did activities more on the West side of Glacier (including a whitewater rafting trip). Next we stayed at 3 different places within Glacier National Park in the Many Glacier and South East side. They were ok because it was nice to not have to travel so far to be in those areas. However, staying here was clearly the highlight of our time. Our kids loved it and we did too! Three of us have trouble walking (I’m on crutches) so the cabin was much better than a lodge or hotel. We also spent more time bonding as a family at the cabin than in the lodges where you’re stuffed into separate rooms or surrounded by a lot of other tourists. We loved how secluded this place was. We loved being together there in a more home-like setting (that wasn’t home). At the end of a day of playing, it was so great to come back to the cabin and spend the evenings together in such a peaceful place. It was also fun to see deer, not at the cabin, but several times on the road near the cabin.

This was our last vacation before we sent our oldest child off to college. We have many happy memories at the cabin and will cherish them greatly! One final thing – One morning as we left for a day in Glacier, we realized we locked the cabin with the keys inside. I was embarrassed to call Steve, the owner, but he was so kind and gracious and by the time we returned at the end of the day, the cabin was open again for us. We really appreciated him and his kindness towards us.

Thanks so much for providing such a perfect place!

Owner's Response: Thanks you for the review! We really enjoy hearing from families that enjoy the cabin and Glacier as much as our family does. It warms our hearts to hear when the cabin creates a special time and place for others as it has for us
