We are a family of 6 who enjoy getting away to spend quality time together. We keep our farmhouse the way we would for our own private use and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
The property is breathtaking. It is located in the beautiful Butternut Valley and in the historic village of Gilbertsville. The property has fantastic views, rolling hills, wooded areas and a big barn directly behind the house.
A really beautiful, happy and peaceful home and property. We enjoyed our stay so much. Thanks, Sharon!
My husband Chris and I were married at the Gilbertsville Farmhouse, and it was positively magical. We stayed in the lovely farmhouse for four nights, and it was perfect for our family to be able to stay there and get everything ready for the wedding. Sharon and Aldo went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for the wedding. They were so incredibly helpful, I couldn't even begin to express it in words. The barn was gorgeous, we hardly needed to add any decorations because it was perfect as is. Their whole family helped to guide our guests to the appropriate places and were the perfect hosts to our party. Thank you so much for everything Sharon! I would recommend this location to anyone with the most glowing praise!!!
We love our vacations at the Gilbertsville Farm House. The house suits nearly all of our needs. We love the two family rooms -perfect for trips with the kids. There are plenty of bedrooms and sleeping arrangements. My family and I all slept incredibly well the entire week of our stay. The beds are very comfortable with cozy comforters, soft linens, fans in the room, and the quiet cool nights. We love the spectacular views and the countryside. Enjoying my morning coffee on the front porch or a glass of wine by the fire pit in the back yard makes it really feel like vacation! The old hay barn (re-done) is a GREAT space to enjoy with company, it's spacious, clean and equipped with picnic tables, burlap table runners, lots of candles, a stereo and very cool hanging lanterns and lights. We just loved it!
Bonus to this rental, the owners are incredibly friendly and accommodating. We definitely want to return.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Gilberstville Farmhouse, with it's beautiful views of the Butternuts Valley countryside. We had 9 people from 3 related families sharing the accommodations and we were all quite comfortable. Two small quibbles are that the kitchen isn't particularly well equipped with cookware for people who want to cook, and the only shower is accessible only through the ground floor bedroom. But there were plenty of games, videos and other recreational options. The barn that's been converted to social space is fabulous.
My husband grew up in Gilbertsville and we were here for a family gathering, so we are a little biased about the appeal of the area. But we really do think it is an idyllic spot in for relaxing and touring all year round.
Farmhouse and surrounding fields and woods perfect for our annual father-son winter retreat. Great hiking on the property and in nearby state forest, and a wonderful setting for our evening feasts. The farm and its house suited our group of eight men and two dogs nicely, and the owners were most helpful and cordial in all of our contacts.
My family arriving from different states met at this charming farmhouse. We were even able to bring my father who is in a nursing home over for Thanksgiving dinner. The entrance was easy to negotiate. The major drawback was the difficulty getting to the bathroom which was through one of the bedrooms. That bathroom also had the only shower. The kitchen was well equipped with dishes and pots and pans. There is no dishwasher however. The furnishings and beds are comfortable. Having a washer and dryer was a plus. Clean and well maintained property.
The areas outside of the house were an asset. We decorated the barn for my granddaughter's birthday. Lots of area to walk off some of the Thanksgiving dinner.
We also enjoyed going to the Ommegang Brewery, Baseball Hall of Fame and Rustic Ridge Winery. All were fun. Had pizza in New Berlin. Was hard to choose our favorite pizza.
The owners were wonderful to work with. Fast email response and very friendly. Directions were clear.
Our family which consists of 4 grown children and their signigificant others spent a wonderful and relaxing early Thanksgiving at the Farmhouse. The house was exactly as described, clean, well accomodated and very comfortable. We chose the farmhouse due to it being located so close to so many attractions, the breweries, wineries, musuems and the Hall of Fame but than never left the property. We spent our time going for walks on the property, playing games in the super cool barn and preparing terrific family meals in the very well equipped kicthen. We are expecting a grand baby this year and are looking forward to bringing him to farmhouse in the future. This is the perfect house for families with all ages. Thank you to Sharon and Aldo for sharing their property and keeping it affordable so everyone has an opportunity to enjoy it.
