STEPS TO THE OCEAN

I actually had a split stay at this lovely vacation rental. I moved to the area and while looking for an apartment I found this great location to allow me the opportunity to look for the perfect long term apartment. I was in an average hotel when I called on the place and they were so gracious upon viewing I wanted to move that day as I was so excited about the location, the cleanliness of the place and the feel for the owners very nice people. I moved in for 15 days and as they had already booked the two weeks following my stay I had to move back into a hotel. I was so attached to the place and the ease of walking everywhere including the beach I was dragging my feet to leave LOL. I moved back after that for another 45 days and just really enjoyed my stay, the neighborhood is great, and everything you would want to see or do is so easy to get to, Restaurants, shops , grocery stores. It's quiet but there are people always walking, biking up and down the street it so cool. The beach is right there. The very best for me was the awesome sunsets I could see from the living room area they were beautiful. I found an permanent apartment within walking distance that is how much I liked the area, and had an easy fun transition. If I have an overflow of visitors in at the same time would definitely be hoping there is availability here to house them :)

I have been to Jim and Patty's place three times. It is a cozy, clean and an updated apt. It is less that a block to the beach. I feel very safe when I am there. It is in a great area. Close to everything. Bring your bike and you can ride to just about anything. I have never had a problem with anything. Great place to stay!! Already have my next stay booked.

My husband and I needed a place to stay that was close to the University of North Florida. We decided to make a vacation out of our trip there so we also wanted something close to the beach. We found the Sand Dollar to be the perfect location. It was a short drive to UNF and after our business was done there we were to free to enjoy walking to the beautiful beach, a stones throw from the property. The beach was so relaxing and beautiful. We were interested in sight seeing and Jax Beach was a few minutes away by car and we enjoyed the Casa Marina for drinks and dinner.
A short drive south was St. Augustine and a short drive north was beautiful Fernandina Beach. Great eats and shopping!
The Sand Dollar is located in a very charming neighborhood with people out biking,jogging, walking their dogs, etc.. It was so friendly and safe. As far as the apartment it's self, it was wonderful. Beauitfully decorated and cozy, very clean and fully stocked with clean linens and towels. Jim and Patti are wonderful and make you feel like a welcomed guest in their home. I look forward to visiting there again and would definitly stay at the Sand Dollar again and would recommmend this property for anyone who enjoys the idea of staying in "Mayberry"..
