With rich hardwoods, stained glass and painted murals, this glorious house was originally built by the family of famed firearms inventor John Browning, and superb craftsmanship inspired by the Arts and Crafts Movement is brimming throughout. Browning House features almost 6,000 square feet of space, another 2,500 square feet of outdoor patio and decks, six spacious bedrooms and 3.5 baths, a chef’s kitchen with all modern appliances, formal dining, a separate breakfast nook, and a workout room with commercial-grade treadmill, cycle and weights. Jerry and Donna Spangler have a long history of restoring historic homes in Ogden and Salt Lake City. They acquired Browning House in 2005, embarking upon a painstaking four-year renovation to return the grand mansion to its former glory. Jerry and Donna are both passionate about historic preservation, working closely with the state of Utah to preserve remnants of Utah’s past. Together, they are eager to share their love of Utah history, good wine and inspiring conversation.
In addition to its unsurpassed beauty at the base of the Wasatch Mountains, Ogden boasts amazing history from fur trappers like Jim Bridger to bootleggers like Al Capone. Browning House is woven into the fabric of this local history.
