Trask River Retreat is located about 15 miles from Tillamook.
Take in the view of the river from the deck, relax and enjoy the sounds of two rivers (N Fork and S Fork) as they join in our back yard. Elk and deer are known to graze in the area. It's just a short walk down the trail to a large swimming hole in the river. Fishing The Trask River is nearby.
The property is large enough to accommodate one or two motor homes and still have room for a game of horseshoes. Come and enjoy the quiet serenity of our home.
My friends and I used this property for a bachelor party. It was perfect. It was spacious and beautiful. I loved looking out the big open living room windows onto the rushing river and giant pine trees. We cooked for 12 in the kitchen and all had beds to sleep in. I will definitely consider the property again for my next get away!
This house was perfect for our fishing trip. The salmon was running & this house was situated in the perfect area to get up and go. We enjoyed how cozy this house was with everything at your finger tips. Loved the king size beds (3). We will definitely come back.
My family stayed the first week in august .
The house was great , it had everything we needed. We enjoyed the water access to the river . Awesome swim hole . We spent a lot of time outside around the fire pit . We could feel like we were camping with all the comforts of home . Tillamook is only 25 min drive. It was nice to have the big yard to play too . Can't wait to come back .
We stayed at the Trask River House for 6 nights during the first week of October, 2013. The weather was sunny with a little rain. The house was very nice with a modern well equipped kitchen that served us well. We drove into Tillamook every day and the scenery with the farms and houses was always fun. One house in particular had a small fenced pasture with one cow and a white goose. I think they were buddies because the goose was always within 2 - 3 feet from the cow.
I also caught a nice salmon right below the Trask River House. Being a good sport I released it.
To sum it all up... The Trask River House is a nice place to stay with all the comforts of home. And the giant moss covered trees off the patio are worth the trip alone.
PS. If you are considering coming to this part of the world, there is a really good novel by Don Berry called "TRASK". A great story.
We did a company retreat to this house and had a blast, it had plenty of room and was close to some great fishing. I look forward to future trips.
I flew out from Maryland to visit my brother along with my sister & her husband and my 86 year old mother. The house was awesome as was the location, next to the Trask River with beautiful moss covered trees all around. The trout fishing was good and very relaxing. My mother had no problems navigating around the house as there are three bedrooms on the main level. The kitchen was well stocked with all needed cooking utensils and all of our meals were cooked there. The drive to Tillamook is very scenic and not too far, we drove down there almost daily. Renting this house was so much better than staying in a hotel and much cheaper for the 6 of us. There is something for everyone here, my brother in law and I did a lot of fishing while our wives hung around the house. My mother enjoyed reading her book and looking out the window, she also loved the fact that she didn't have to do anything. We were relativity close to everything, the ocean, the 3 capes, a fish hatchery and Tillamook. The driving in that area, no matter which direction you go, is just beautiful. I would recommend this house to anyone. If you are looking for a place in the Tillamook area forget the hotels this is your place.
My two daughters and five grandchildren stayed for a week. We had the best time and the house was loaded with all a person would need. We swam in the river, fished, went to the beach and kids played for hours in the large yard. This will be a place we will return to for sure. Owners are a dream to work with.
