About Steve Simmons

We all chipped in with the rebuilding of this house. We finished construction in the fall of 2009. Here are Dave and Steve drilling a well pipe access point. As you can see, we literally started from scratch. We also enjoy two other family homes on GreenWater, and we visit all summer long! And btw, we are always looking for people to wakeboard!

Steve Simmons purchased this house in 2007

Why Steve Simmons chose Becket

We are an extended family that all fell in love with Becket and can especially appreciate the recreation that GreenWater Pond has to offer. Our family all went in and bought a rundown old cabin and decided to rebuild it. It was really a no brainer. With gorgeous Mountain and Lake views, private access to the lake across the street, and close proximity to year round activities, it really is a great place to bring the whole family.

What makes this house unique

This is where we go to decompress from the craziness of Boston. Whether it is soaking up sun, wakeboarding, hitting the shoppes, hitting the slopes, catching a James Taylor concert in the summer (always around the 4th by the way), catching some Hollywood folk starring in summer stock, or grabbing hot cider at the Red Lion Inn after a day of hiking the Trail in the fall ... One cannot help just feel the stress of life just melt away.

Another great trip!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time at Starry Nite. The house was perfect for a small bridal shower. We love the location and access to Lenox. Plenty of room. The owners are close by if you need any information. Looking forward to another visit back during the warmer weather. Thanks for a great time!

Completely exceeded all expectations

  • 5 of 5

What a great spot! Starry Night is a beautiful, well maintaned home and Steve is an incredibly accomodating owner. With all the snow, I asked to arrive a day early - he didn't even hesitate. We arrived to a warm, clean and very comfortable home with amazing, albeit snow covered, views. It is nicely located - close to everything and right off the Mass Pike. We went ice fishing at Lake Buel and Stockbridge Bowl, went skiing at Bousquet, went bowling at the Cove, and shopped the outlets in Lee. We ate at the Barrington Brewery, The Brick House Cafe, The Gypsy Joynt and Rose's. The whole family really enjoyed the week. We will be back!

Great Girls Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We had an Excellent Girls weekend at Starry Nite! Beautiful spot, very clean, well stocked, and comfortable. Steve was great to work with and very helpful with my questions. We enjoyed cooking on the grill one night, foliage, shopping, a tour of The Edith Wharton House, enjoyed dinner at Brava in Lenox Sat night, and let's not forget some Kareoke!! What fun!! Rt 20 traffic did not bother me -you can take the back bedrooms if it's a concern. All in all, we had a wonderful time!!

Family Get-Away

  • 5 of 5

On short notice I was looking for a place to meet with our son and his family that live in MA so the drive we had would not be quite as long. We were fortunate to locate Starry Nite and the owners were very accommodating. We even extended our stay at the last minute for an extra night. The home is everything you would want in your own; clean, well furnished and a beautiful location across from the lake with a view of the mountains. The weather was absolutely beautiful, we used the kayaks on the lake and enjoyed the fall colors. Definitely recommend.

Great Spring Break Hideaway!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment Steve answered the phone he was nothing but polite and helpful. Newenglandvaca. com was set up so well that I was left with answers to any question I had. Starry night is exactly how its pictured. It's located on Route 8 over looking a gorgeous lake. If you're looking for a getaway, but still want to be close to the real world then I would highly recommend this rental. I will most definitely plan on returning!
