Honolulu and Waikiki are approximately 55 minutes away. Makaha is a quiet valley on the leeward (dry) side of Oahu where sunshine is the trademark. Enjoy unobstructed 180 degree ocean and sunset views from the tropical landscaped backyard.

Swim with the turtles and snorkel off the sand (June to Sept.) and reef (Sept. to May) from the beach just outside your private gate. One location where whale watching (winter months) and sport fishing can be arranged is Waianae Boat Harbor less than 5 minutes away.

Conveniently located 20 minutes away in Kapolei, the second city, provides everything from shopping at Safeway to movies at the Cinema 16 to Starbucks. Many restaurants from fast food to sit down await your dining pleasure. Another 10 minute drive takes you to Designer Outlet shopping.

Beautiful Property, Wonderful Stay

The Fan House was everthing they advertised. Beautiful large home right on the ocean. We visited with three couples and found the property had plenty of room, large lanai's, great bedrooms with wonderful ocean views, large kitchen, laundry facilities, large living room. Very peaceful quiet setting. The men in the group love to golf and did not have to travel very far. The women love shopping and found factory outlets, other retail, restaurants a short drive away. Property is well maintained, wonderful lighting in the yard. Every morning we swam with the sea turtles, good snorkling & clean beach. I would definetly recommend this property, in the evenings as we were sitting on the lanai we would discuss when we would be returning.

What a way to live!

We stayed in this house for the month of February, 2011, and our only wish was that we could stay longer. The house and garden are well maintained, and three of the four bedrooms face the ocean. The downstairs living area is fantastic, all windows, great lanai, plenty of seating. We dined outdoors nearly every night.

This house is not in the touristy area of Oahu, so you're far away from all of the noise and traffic. There are two grocery stores about two miles away. High speed internet and phones made this a perfect spot for us, since we had to work while we were there. (Pretty much the best office I've ever had, watching turtles graze on the plants and whales frolic in the distance.)

The surf is sometimes a little rough right in front of the house. This is probably seasonal. But if you have very young children, there are super calm beaches a short drive away.

The owners and manager were all very reasonable to work with. Laundry facilites on site. We hope to visit again soon!

Amazing Views, Amazing Home

I stay in Hawaii once a year at various places. I have visited 5-star resorts, time shares & condos. Nothing compared to recent visit staying in the beautiful Fan House. Being able to stay and enjoy the comforts of a home with the amazing view of the ocean was a dream. Sleeping at night with the upstairs lanaii doors open and hearing the ocean waves on the secluded beach below was unbelievable. I will be back and I can't wait. I will not be waisting my time at a resort during my trips to Oahu again.
Recommended for:  Adventure Seekers, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
