Great place in Florence!

  • 5 of 5
This was an excellent place to stay in Florence! It very close to the Duomo and many restaurants and shopping. It's a short walk to the train station as well. The apartment was spacious and clean, with plenty of amenities for cooking. There is also a clothes washer, but there is no dryer. The best part about staying here was the rooftop deck/patio. It was amazing to sit on the patio and enjoy a bottle of wine and see the moon climb the sky over the Duomo dome. There are some stairs though, so if you have trouble with stairs, this might not be a good place for you. Francesca was very nice and helpful. We would highly recommend this place, and will stay here again for any future trips to Florence.

Beautiful Apartment with Wonderful View on the Chatedral Dome!

  • 5 of 5
We had an amazing time in Florence in this spacious, lovely apartment! The location is ideal and we had more than enough room with 7 of us. The apartment was equipped with everything we needed. The roof top terrace was just fabulous for our morning coffee and our evening glass of wine.
It was extremely hot in the city while we we there and even though the apartment does have "air-conditioning" it is not the "american air conditioning"..... if you are looking for that...go to Las Vegas. Some of the nights it was quite hot and a few more fans would have been ideal.... 2 fans for such a large apartment was not enough. A fan for each bedroom and one for the living room would be just perfect!
Francesca and Mariam were wonderful to work with and were very accommodating. Mariam greeted us at the apartment and was extremely helpful and thoughtful and spent time going over over all of our questions. However she does not speak much English. We had a person in our group who spoke fluent Italian. I am not sure how we would have communicated otherwise.
I highly recommend this apartment... it was perfect for traveling with teenagers and again the location was just perfect for evening walks in the city, close to markets and great restaurants and all the attractions in Florence!!! We would definitively stay here again and again! We had a wonderful time in Florence!! What a beautiful city!!!

A fabulous place to stay in Florence

  • 5 of 5
This flat is very spacious, clean, nicely furnished and is in a location that is hard to beat if you are interested in sight seeing in Florence. The flat had plenty of space for the six people in our party. Everything was in working order and appeared as described on the VRBO website. Almost all of the major attractions in Florence are in easy walking distance. Our favorite aspect of this flat was the terrace with the view of the Duomo, which was fantastic. The flat is on the top floor of the building and so there are a lot of stairs to climb but we enjoyed the exercise and the views made the climbs worthwhile. The kitchen was well stocked (we used it every night). Our only complaint is we couldn't find any potholders or kitchen linens.

Great View, weak ac,odd layout, but can make it work

  • 4 of 5
Great location on a pedestrian street around the corner from the Duomo! The view is just as pictured and we enjoyed the terrace and view every night after a long day of sightseeing. Lots of space in the entryway/living room with a convenient small fridge there as well. But,

Although Owner speaks English well, greeter spoke not a word. Were able to get the gist of what she was trying to communicate, but if you want to be able to ask a lot of questions about the area/apt, you need to speak Italian. We brought Owner's number with us and called her to ask about the ac and grocery stores, but it was not as expected.
-Although the building has an elevator, you have to walk up a flight of stairs to get to it. It is typical European (tiny) and requires someone to be in it to press the button. So shuttling a lot of suitcases from downstairs to the apt doesn't work as well as you might think. If you have a stroller, you might be able to squeeze in with it open (we managed) if it, and the person going with it, are small.
-Although the apt technically has air conditioning, it did not do very much to cool the apt. If you need it to be 70 degrees inside when it is 85 outside, this is not the apartment for you. (Owner said it is not "the new air conditioning". To be fair we did not bother to call her back and complain further as we were too busy seeing the sights.) We were able to keep it relatively cool (75 at 10pm, getting cooler depending on outside temp through the night), by closing all windows and shutters, extending awning when we got up in the morning and not opening them back up until we got back at night (9 or 10pm). We also used the 2 fans provided to draw in the cooler night air.
-Bring your earplugs if you are a light sleeper. The apartment was surprisingly loud at night with garbage collection (literally 12:30am) and street sweepers in the wee hours every night/morning. It was not so loud with the windows closed, but we needed them open for the coolness most of the night. The garbage trucks and sweepers became part of the charm once we got used to them.
-Layout: the entry, living room, 1 bath, and the BR with split bunkbeds is on the 1st floor of the apartment. The other 2 BRs, 1 Queen and 1 twin bed, are up one flight of stairs. The wardrobe room is halfway up another, stone, spiral staircase (at the other end of 1st floor) which leads to the kitchen and balcony. No microwave + oddly no corkscrew. wood fireplace. sleeps5 w/o sofa

Great location, OK apartment

  • 2 of 5
The location was excellent, the view from the terrace was lovely, but the terrace was a bit dirty. The apartment had a strange layout, the furniture was run down, the beds were not comfortable, and the street noise was quite loud. This was overpriced for the accommodation and we would not consider it "luxury". We were a bit disappointed and would not stay here again.
