RELAXING COTTAGE ON ARBUTUS LAKE - GREAT FISHING & SWIMMING!

Traverse City Cottage Rental Photos and Description

2 Bdrm, 1 Bath, Lake Front/View Cottage - Minutes from Downtown Traverse City

About 7 miles south of Traverse City south just off Garfield Road and just north of Kingsley. On the south end Arbutus Lake. Other cottages are available so please call or email us - check out property #140019 on HomeAway.com.

This property was remodeled in 2009 and now has many comforts of home. It accommodates 4 to 6 people. The lake property has 400 ft. of private beach with a sandy bottom, two rafts and buoys, four 30-ft docks, children's playground, volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, barbecue grills and fire pits.

If you are boating and/or fishing, the resort features a large boat house with private secured lockers, a screened-in fish-cleaning house with running water and a boat launch. Pontoon boat rental is available for an additional fee.

This is also a great location if you are planning to take a fall color tour so don't limit yourself just to summer!

Small pets are considered and renters are asked to clean up after them. The resort is not handicap accessible.

The heated vacation cottage has a newer interior, full kitchen with microwave, dishes, pots and pans, coffee maker and toaster. Bed linens and towels are not provided, however bedspreads, pillows and blankets are in the cottage.

The resort and cottage is secluded and quiet, located on wooded Arbutus Lake. Water recreation includes swimming, trophy fishing (small and large mouth bass, blue gill, perch, pike and crappie), boating and water-skiing. Nearby recreation includes golf, tennis, hiking, bicycling, horseback riding and shopping.

SUSAN AND LEE FROM CROWN POINT, INDIANA

My husband and I were looking for a nice cottage on a lake with good fishing at a reasonable price and we found that with this cottage. It was very clean and in excellent shape when we arrived. We were in Traverse City in the middle of July and it was unfortunately a week that was not only hot there but throughout the whole nation. This did make sleeping a bit difficult a night or two but we knew from reading the info. on this cottage that there were ceiling fans which certainly helped. We also brought a couple of our own fans which made it more bearable for sleeping. Short of the heat, the cottage was very comfortable for our needs. This is a lovely area to be in especially for fishing and I would recommend it highly to anyone who wants to get away. The beach is nice for young families and there is also a nice shaded playground for little ones. We used the row boat that came with our cottage and brought our own electric motor and scooted along just great on the lakes. The owners of this cottage have been very accommodating and pleasant to deal with along with the folks who run the resort. Very nice people to deal with. We would definitely recommend this property and staying at this resort and would love to come back especially in the fall with the color changes.

4TH OF JULY WEEKEND 2010

We had an amazing time at this cozy little cottage. Everyone there was really friendly. It was very quiet and peaceful at night. We cooked most of our food instead of going out to eat in town. It was a lot of fun. Overall, it was a fantastic place to stay.
My suggestion would be to have an air conditioner wall unit or something put in. It was super hot the the whole time we were there. There was no breeze, so opening the windows did not help at all. There were no fans in there either. It was actually pretty difficult to sleep in that kind of condition. But that is my only complaint! Loved it. I would definitely come back. :)

COTTAGE RENTAL

  • 1 of 5
I do not believe the listing on my cottage was accurate. We got to the cottage and discovered that the screened in porch had several windows that did not open. There are no fans and other cottages with the same owner have fans. We were supposed to have a rowboat available to us and did not. I did not see a fish cleaning station as it is said that you must use the cleaning station. There is a cleaning fee and the cottage was not clean. There was dirt under the couch and beds and dirty dishes in the cupboard. I know it is our job to do dishes but I think that they should check things out for the next people coming. I will not rent from these owners again.

Owner's Response: An unclean property is not acceptable. Upon receiving this feedback, we immediately contacted our cleaning company and corrective measures have been taken to ensure that other guests do not have to ever experience this. Our sincere apologies to our guests who encountered this unfortunate situation. Should any guest arrive to a less-then-tidy property, please contact us right away.

The screened-in porch does have screens with windows that are older aluminum framed which make them difficult to open and close. They are usually kept open most of the summer season. Repairs and/or replacements are under consideration. The rest of the windows are new to the cottage.

Rowboats, 10hp outboard motors, and a pontoon boat are available to rent from the boat livery on Pineview Resort property on an hourly, daily or weekly basis.

We have reviewed the listing for the 2 bedroom to ensure it is accurate in that it did not, at the time, indicate the presence of fans, and believe the description to have been accurate. It is true that our 3 bedroom property has a ceiling fan in each room – however, it is unclear if it was assumed there would be fans in the 2 bedroom property based on looking at the three bedroom listing.

We are also aware that this was during a time of record heat in Traverse City, which is unusual, and probably added to the discomfort. The good news is that ceiling fans have now been installed in the 2 bedrooms which should come as a welcome addition for all to enjoy.

The fish cleaning station is still present on the resort property and available for use. It seems this was difficult to locate based on the feedback. As a corrective measure, we have uploaded additional photos of the fish cleaning station in our posting to provide some visual reference for our guests in hopes that it will be easier to locate while on the property.

We appreciate the feedback and the opportunity to improve our guest’s experience.
