VILLA TORTUGA LA MANZANILLA 2 BR BEST VIEW IN THE BAY

La Manzanilla Villa Rental Photos and Description

Villa, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Villa Tortuga!

Newly available as a two bedroom rental, Villa Tortuga encompasses the main building in a private villa complex. Guests will enjoy everything that the villa has to offer, amazing views over La Manzanilla and the Bay of Tenacatita, private terraced pool, large palapa, fully equipped kitchen, beautiful living area and garden, and two huge guestrooms. Our three bedroom guestroom building, which expands the villa to a 5 bedroom rental (Casa Golondrinas) will remain closed during rentals for two bedrooms. Have the best for less!

Our custom built Villa completed in 2008 sits on the bluff of a hill over looking the beautiful bay of Tenacatita and is in the town of La Manzanilla. The villa has a brand new beautiful access road and gated steps down to the town from the pool area, making La Manzanilla shops, cafes, restaurants and the local beach a five minute stroll away.

The villa has a total of two bedrooms. There is one huge master suite with walk in closets and separate master bath. This master suite has a convertible full size sofa which unfolds to a full size mattress bed on floor. There is also a huge guest bedroom on the lower level, which has a king size bed, plus two additional twin size beds, currently arranged as daybed/sofas. There is another full bathroom next to the large guest bedroom downstairs.

There is a living room with an entertainment area next to the full kitchen. The kitchen opens to an outdoor thatched palapa area that looks over the private swimming pool. The villa also has a shaded outdoor dining area. There is a large lawn area and a manicured garden with a large charcoal grill that looks out over the ocean and has an unobstructed view of the sunsets. There is a private entrance to the villa with one car off street parking.

The fishing village of La Manzanilla has all the amenities you will require including several shops, bars and restaurants. La Manzanilla has a long, curving, gently sloping beach with gentle surf extending for about a mile. Good swimming, diving. Numerous palapa restaurants line the beach.

Today the village caters to the adventuresome modern day explorer who can access the area via Hwy 200 either from Manzanillo, a major resort town and Navy port to the south or from Puerto Vallarta, another resort town to the north. The village of La Manzanilla offers the outdoor enthusiast a cornucopia of options while on vacation.

You can hire a local fisherman to go after Dorado, Sailfish, Tuna, and many other varieties of fish that frequent the bay. Wildlife observation is popular for Spotted Porpoises, Whales, Brown Pelicans, Cormorants, Brown-footed Boobies, Frigates, and many more varieties of animals.

Next to the village is a Mexican Federal Ecological Zone ( a high tide mangrove lagoon), home to Egrets, Heron, King Fishers, Ibises, Anhingas, and Caimans (part of the crocodilian genus) plus several miles of shrouded waterways accessible with a local boat guide or on your own in a kayak. Playa La Manzanilla is a mellow, user friendly beach with small surf, excellent sand, and several mom & pop sand-floored palapa restaurants offering the catch of the day and a front row view of the Bay of Tenacatita.

The town is so small that for the most part you can get around on foot. There are taxis available at the bus station on Calle Gómez Farías and at the central plaza in Melaque. Cars may be rented at the Manzanillo airport.

AMAZING VIEWS, LUXURIOUS AND SPACIOUS. WOULD DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN.

I guess I'll start by saying that we definitely plan on staying at Casa Golondrinas again. As soon as the 9 of us left, we were already talking about how much we wanted to go back to La Manzanilla and that we would definitely choose the same accommodation again.

The bedrooms in the main house both have AC, which is nice to have, and, while the rooms in the guest house can get a little warm, they're still very nice and there are plenty of fans to go around. The bathrooms were great as well. A few more beach towels would be nice as there were only three when we went.

The kitchen is nicely equipped and there was plenty of space for the 9 of us (+ one toddler) to prepare food and eat at the large outdoor dining table.

The hike up the hill might be a little much for people with mobility issues, as it is quite steep, but not very long. It is about 5 minutes to walk down to the beach and then maybe 10 minutes to get back up to the Villa. You'll definitely break a sweat walking up the hill, but once you reach the top, you can relax in the magnificent pool and watch the sunset over the town.

When we got there, there was a leak in the pool, but the management company was great about it, sent guys up to fix it, and within a few days we were splashing around. While it would have been nice to have the pool the entire time, things are going to happen, and it was great to see that the management company handled it well.

They supply plenty of bottled water and have drinking water in the bathrooms for brushing your teeth, etc, as you can't drink the tap water.

All in all, I'd definitely recommend this place and we plan on returning next year.

BUENO!

Casa Golondrinas is a gorgeous vacation rental. My husband and I, and two other couples, stayed there recently and had a great time. We would absolutely rent Casa Golondrinas again!

It has fabulous views, a well-maintained pool, and a palapa area that is like an outdoor living room with a 360-degree view of the ocean, town, and jungle. There are plenty of beach/pool towels as well as lots of towels in the bathrooms (towels are important to me). And you are allowed to use the laundry facilities if you need them, which was great for us because we packed light. It's an easy walk to town/beach from the house---just use the staircase at the far end of the pool, not the road to the house. We love La Manzanilla's mellow vibe and friendly locals.

My only real criticism is the following:
1. Toilet paper was in very short supply! We had to buy more twice during our one-week stay because there was no extra stored anywhere in the house. A "luxury villa" isn't very luxurious if you have to worry about running out of TP. Just sayin'.

Two other minor notes:
1.The BBQ is rustic. More like a large hibachi that you have to crouch over rather than a standard sized BBQ.
2. This is picky but... more comfortable furniture in the thatched palapa area would have been nice. It's the area where you spend the most time and the furniture there is pretty hard, scratchy, and beat up from extensive use. To be fair, all of the seats had cushions, but they were quite worn out.
