Lovely, Romantic Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our time on Lake Seneca was everything we wanted and more. This place was a fabulous little getaway in the woods, perfect for a romantic vacation for me and my fiance!

The cottage is nestled at the bottom of a long hill and next to a small glen. The combination of days spent looking at the lake and nights spent listening to the water flowing down the glen were incredible--like the images and sounds they play at the spa, but in real life! From waking up and having coffee in the breakfast nook overlooking the lake, to reading or watching sunsets on the porch, I felt like I was truly able to relax.

We spent most of our days on the dock and beach to soak up the sun (and to jump in the lake when things got too hot!). We also spent a lot of time exploring the vineyards nearby and trying out different restaurants. The cottage itself is older, but the place was clean and the furniture was comfortable, so its age only added to the charm.

We cannot wait to go back!!!

Heavenly Place to Relax and Unwind

  • 5 of 5

This was my family's first time staying here and we can't wait to go back. The cottage has a vintage charm that is exactly what I'm looking for in a getaway cabin. The view from the balcony down to the lake is lovely morning, noon and eve and we enjoyed taking their canoe out for a spin along the shore. We grilled on the beach one night, read on the porch, played some of the fun board games they had stocked for us. Furniture was well maintained, linens were clean & new - I just loved it there and am so glad we found it. Thank you Adrian!

Disappointed

  • 2 of 5

This house was much more rustic and "cabin in the woods" than we anticipated. The mold and rust in the house was a surprise to us. If you have mold allergies, beware. The house is eclectic and old with narrow stairs and tight doors. The driveway is 1/4 mile long and is suited best for SUV's. The friends we traveled with were very disappointed.

On the bright side, the setting is beautiful and the lake is very nice. It is in good proximity of many good wineries.

Super cozy cottage with stunning views!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely LOVED this cottage! Everything was so cozy and comfortable - we felt right at home and enjoyed every minute of it. The private dock and beach was perfect and reading out on the front porch overlooking the lake was a daily joy! The kitchen was my favorite room of all with a wall of windows that provided lots of light and could be opened to let in cool lake breezes. This is truly a very special place and we will absolutely try and rent it again the next time we travel to the Fingerlakes.

A Perfect Finger Lakes Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We chose this house for our 2nd Girls' Trip and were not disappointed!! This charming, lakefront house is perfect for the quiet, relaxing getaway.

The lakefront porch became the favorite hangout for the days we stayed, and the natural babbling glen next to the house is not only beautiful and picture-worthy, but makes for an excellent sound machine at night!

The kitchen provided an excellent area for making quick breakfasts before heading out to go waterfalling and wining. It quickly became "home away from home" for us.

The beds are plenty and very comfortable, but in my opinion, the best place to sleep is the lakefront living room. There is nothing better than waking up to a gorgeous lake view every morning. It makes it hard to return home.

The private beach and dock were the perfect place to relax in the evening with a newly acquired bottle of Finger Lakes wine, especially after hiking Watkins Glen Gorge and touring a few local wineries.

I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway on Seneca Lake. The views are amazing, and the location is excellent, being close to Watkins Glen and local wineries and restaurants.

I will definitely be staying here for my next trip up to Finger Lakes!! My new "home away from home"!

Charming and Quaint Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We were absolutely delighted with this charming cottage situated overlooking Lake Seneca. It is well maintained, clean, and in an absolutely breathtaking setting. With the windows open, you hear the rippling waterfall which runs alongside the home and the property is heavily wooded with woodpeckers and chipmunks in abundance.

The kitchen is well stocked and a complimentary bottle of wine was waiting for us with a handwritten note that set the tone for a wonderful week. The cottage decor was darling and we enjoyed looking at old photos on walls. All the provisions promised were readily available. The owner was responsive, responsible and timely.

As mentioned in other reviews, Watkins Glen is less than two miles away with Ithaca, Corning nearby as well. The lake itself is so clean and you can see clear to the bottom in deep areas.

Can you guess, we would highly recommend this cottage!
