House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

Located at Thurmond Lake, SC on the Savannah River and lakes, and in the Sumpter National Forest area, Savannah Lakes Village is an active community with no age restrictions, although made up of a number of retirees. You can be as busy or relaxed as you choose to be.

The house is a one floor ranch style on a private cul-de-sac street, with a deck and fenced yard.

In addition to the two championship golf courses (restaurants; full service bars);(as guests of the owner,both golf courses may be played: 18 holes with cart for $46); very close by is the golf course at Hickory Knob State Resort Park with cabins and restaurant, also Baker State Park adjoins Savannah Lakes, and just over the bridge in Georgia,is the Elijah Clark State Park.There are plenty of boat launching ramps, but any boat on a trailer must be small enough to be kept in the garage except when trailering to launch! Within easy walking distance is the Activity Center which houses a large heated indoor pool, spa and sauna, outdoor pool, excellent workout center, tennis courts and bowling alleys. There is a resort type complex on the lake beachfront available for all to use along with the beach club. There you will find the marina and sand beach. Pleasant walking or bicycling all around.

All of the major church denominations are present in McCormick. The weather is very comfortable in Spring and Fall, and the Summer is what you would expect for the Carolinas at that time of year (warmer).

There is a modest fee for the Activity Center and of course for golf.

No motorhomes or trailers of any type are allowed on the property at anytime as per property owners association rules.

We are a retired couple, originally from Eastern Long Island, NY and now living in Maine most of the year.

The Owner purchased this house in 2009

we live in Maine, and have visited and rented in South Carolina over many years; we have found Savannah Lakes Village to be just right for us.

Perfect Place for a Holiday Get Away!

My family truely enjoyed the home. It was very clean, spacious and included everything you need to cook and eat. They even left great directions to power up or use items in the house (IE TV & Ice Maker). The owners were responsive to our emails and flexible with our plans. We will stay again next year without a doubt and a fantastic retreat when visiting the Savanah Lakes region.

A Great Find!

A very comfortable retreat in a quiet, peaceful location. Home is well equipped with all that's needed for a very pleasant stay. Don't forget the wine...even the stemware is there so you can enjoy the deck overlooking the woods! We've been coming to the McCormick area for many years and were delighted that the owners have finally offered this as a rental. Although golfing is a huge draw to the area, whether it be at Savannah Lakes courses or Hickory Knob State Park Golf Resort, there is much to see and do within easy driving distance... Augusta, Aiken, historic Abbeville or Ninety-Six, or the dams on the Savannah River. Don't forget to get to Michelle's in McCormick for great pizza! We stayed two weeks and have already made plans to return.

This location is close to anything you want to do in McCormick. There are two great Golf Courses less than 10 minutes away. The home is much nicer than pictures show.It was furnish with everything we needed plus a lot more. It is well maintained and appears very new. We hope to return next year and would highly recommend it to our friends. The owner was easy to work with and very helpful.

Golf Getaway

Very comfortable and well appointed home situated in a great location for golf lovers, nature lovers, and boating/fishing enthusiasts. Stayed here Easter week with my wife and two of our young adult sons for a golf getaway and a Masters Practice Round. The home accommidated us with no problem. Very clean with comfortable beds and all the things needed for a weeks getaway without having to feel like you are doing without.
