The owner greeted us with late arrival and we were very impressed with the accommodation. It is located up on the hill overlooking the harbor. Even though we went to watch the 4th of July fireworks and were rained out it was a fabulous place to stay. We wished there were two queen beds instead of the one but made it work and it would be nice if the toilet paper was better than 1-ply, but these are minor things in the grand scheme of it all. We would definitely stay here again in the future!
This was absolutely one of the best vacations we ever had! The location of the apartment could not have been better. Located at the foot of the footbridge over to the "downtown" area of Boothbay Harbor we did not need a car when going into town for shopping, dinner or drinks - what a treat that was. We were centrally located to visiting Camden, Freeport, Pemaquid Light, Augusta and roads in between. The apartment was so well outfitted that we just knew the owners were travelers themselves. From coffee, tea, spices and sugar to paper goods including baggies and saran wrap! Nothing was overlooked. The furniture was comfortable, the beds great and the views were perfect. At $3.95 a pound the lobster was great too! For once we found an apartment to lived up to and exceeded the expectations. Our hosts were friendly and accomodating. When we asked where the Irish music was they had an answer pretty directly! (In town at the Under the Curragh Taven - highly recommend). We were surprised that the prices were very affordable (with the exception of fudge which was $15.00 a pound). Go to Boothbay harbor and stay at Capt. Dunton's - you will be happy you did!
