Kari and Jim love living and working on Orcas Island. Everyday we are amazed we were lucky enough to have landed in such a fantastic, beautiful, and giving community. In 2009, we were able to purchase a home for our family and future retirement plans. We reside in this home during the school year and move to our other property during the summer months. This house is now available for rent during the late spring, summer, and early fall.
Kari purchased this house in 2009
Our home is in a perfect location on the island because it is an easy walk to everything in town. The home is modern, cute, and comfortable and will suit occupants from 2 persons up to 8.
We rented one room through Airbnb.com. Kari has a beautiful home within walking distance to sites, restaurants and the farmer's market. We enjoyed all of those things and made time to see the orcas with Deer Harbor Charters. Kari made us a delicious cake which we enjoyed on the ferry ride back to the mainland. We would definitely stay with Kari again!
Our adult children joined us for my birthday and we couldn't have been more pleased! The location was great - a small path leads to 'town' so we walked everywhere. The home and rooms were furnished just beautifully and the kitchen has everything you could want. Having two family rooms was great for the few moments someone needed quiet time. The owners were so accommodating. Just perfect for us.
It was a long way from Hawaii to Orcas Island, but it was worth the travel and the house allowed our vacation to be all the more special. We are so happy that we chose to stay in the house rather than a hotel. Sharing the house allowed us to be a family rather than just travelers. The house itself was fantastic and its hard to imagine how you can find a home more convenient, appealing and comfortable. The kitchen was large, modern and well appointed, allowing us to congregate and share island experiences as we prepared meals together. The house is impeccably decorated and it is obvious the owner took great care is selecting the art and other works in the house.
Orcas is a beautiful island, made so much better by having a fantastic home to spend out time in.
We had a great stay at this house on Orcas. Location of the house is perfect, close walking distance to Eastsound. The house is well stocked with kitchen item and products, so you don't have to go buy all those accessories like condiments, sugar, paper towels, etc. Good experience, would rent here again.
This was a great house to accomodate my fairly large group. It was spacious and clean, and had great furniture and everything was organized. They included paper product, trash bags, condiments, etc., and the kitchen was fully loaded with cooking items like pots and pans. As well, the appliances were top of the line, there was a cool game room in the basement with board games like Cranium and Apples to Apples, and there's an iPod dock + some movies. We had a great time on Orcas taking mopeds to the top of Mt. Constitution, hiking around the trails in Moran State Park, and enjoying the restaurants of Eastsound. Kari's daughter recommended the New Leaf as a breakfast place, and it was so great we ate there two days in a row. Thanks!
We stayed in this beautiful home in early August and we were very happy with it. There was plenty of room for my husband and I, our children, and our extended family members. The home was very neat and clean, decorated nicely, and very functional. It was a short walk to the cute shops and restaurants of Eastsound. The owner was helpful and easy to work with. We had a great experience and would highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone!
