OCEAN FRONT VILLA ON DITLEFF POINT, ST JOHN US VIRGIN ISLANDS

Just wanted to drop you a quick note about our stay at your home in St. John. To say that we had a great time would be a HUGE understatement! Your home is more beautiful than any picture could capture. The view is breathtaking and the layout is superb. The kids loved the pool and walking down to the beach, they even spotted sea turtles swimming down in Fish Bay! We loved every moment of our stay and we were definitely the envy of all our fellow travelers. Thank you so much for everything that you and Justin did to prepare for and provide for us before and during our stay. Many thanks again and I wish you much happiness and prosperity in the new year. We visited in December and had a great time. The views from Kaleidoscope are tremendous. We could see both the sunrise and sunset from the patio. On a clear day we could see the island of St. Croix. Jack has thought of every convenience. We had provisioning and dinners prepared by St. John catering and they were terrific. We rented cars in Cruz Bay and Brenda was great to work with and the cars were in great condition. We visited Caneel Bay and visit Hawksnest and Trunk Bay beaches. Probably the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen. We used Russ at St. John Concierge to charter the Calypso for an afternoon/sunset sail and their crew was fantastic. They took us snorkeling, hor's devours, cocktails and concluded the afternoon watching the sun set over St. Thomas. My wife got to see her first barracuda while snorkeling. That evening we finished off the day with dinner at Morgan's Mango. We finished our week by having dinner the last evening at Zo Zo's and it was fantastic. The house is very comfortable and Angie mentioned the other day she couldn't wait to go back.

I visited Kaleidoscope Villa ("KV") the last wknd of August with my wife and our respective parents. I have been to St. John close to a dozen times and Kaleidoscope is by far the best villa I've ever encountered. No details of this villa have been overlooked. From the high-end artwork to the superb electronic sound system, to the hillside “Grotto”, KV strikes a fine balance of artistic elegance while still feeling cozy. After a long day on the beach in the sun, going back to KV was almost as good, or even better, than being on the beach. Read on for more detail on why KV is the best villa St. John has to offer.

The People - Jack and his island housekeeper, Justin, are as kind as your next door neighbors. Easily accessible and there if you need them, or need something.

The Layout - 4 bedrooms with 2 separate pods connecting 2 rooms. At first glance it seems that the connecting rooms aren't private enough, but I assure you, when the doors are closed, nothing can be heard in the adjacent bedroom. The family room is perfectly situated with a view to the south, encompassing the infinity pool, Ditleff Point, AND both Klein and Fish Bays. It’s absolutely stunning, and perhaps my favorite part of the villa.

The Grotto – The feeling of the above mentioned Grotto can only be experienced in person. Utilizing the hot tub during a rainstorm will make you forget what's coming down around you.

The Beach Access – Like to have the beach all to yourself? Klein Bay’s private access beach is a 5 minute walk from the villa. Decent snorkeling to the south side and is simple for even the average snorkeler. On the opposite side of the Point and at the foot of KV’s side entrance is stair access to Fish Bay. Here you can make your way down the rocky access way and swim out to the turtles you’ve been watching from your master bedroom.

The Details – Kaleidoscope Villa T-shirts?? Yes, please! Also available are bottles of wine for purchase. What other villa can say they have these options? None, that I know of.

The Pictures – The pictures on KV’s website do some justice, but not close to what can be served. It’s just impossible to replicate the beauty of this villa though pictures; true enlightenment best be acknowledged in person. We unanimously recommend KV for your next STJ trip.
