All the amenities of home and more. If you are a discriminating renter and prefer 5 star accommodations Fox Woods should be your destination. This lovely home is located in Northwest Lower Penninsula of Michigan. The home is in a pristine area in the woods, perched on a hill and overlooking the beautiful crystal clear waters of Green Lake! It is in a one of a kind location. You will not be annoyed or awakened to the drone of jet ski's or power boats on this private lake.
Professionally decorated, immaculately clean and comfortable. It is one of 11 homes on nearly 300 acres.
Summertime Enjoyment at Fox Woods: Bring your poles and tackle box or if you don't fish...a good book to pass the time! There are Huge Bass and pan fish and if you are lucky, Rainbow Trout.
We have a paddle boat, row boat and 2 kayaks available for your enjoyment at the waters edge. Swimming down the road or at the north end of the lake. Bring life vests.
If you want 'big water' for water skiing or deep water fishing you are 10 minutes from Lake Bellaire, Torch Lake, Clam Lake or countless other recreational lakes. You can put in your boat (if you brought it along) at numerous public access points or if you have flown in and want to rent a boat, there are multiple boat rental places in the area. We will provide information for you. We have plenty of room at the house to park your boat, jet ski's, ATV's or snow machines.
Fox Woods is private, safe and the perfect vacation spot if what you are truly seeking is rest, relaxation and the tranquility that only beautiful Northern Michgan can offer.
Local Activities: Every one of our guests have loved the privacy and peace of Fox Woods.
However, If you want some night life, you can take a 30 min scenic ride to Traverse City or Petosky and enjoy casino gambling, live entertainment and fine dining. There is also LuLu's, & Jack Fiddler, fine dining, 10 minutes away in quaint Bellaire. Short's Brewery on Main Street, the Bellaire Bar, (a beer & burger joint that is one of our favorites) and finally Toonie's a family style restaurant that has a full bar, at affordable prices.
We can't forget to mention some cute little shops for shopping, a movie theater with the latest films and indoor miniature golf for the kids. If you want a grown ups night out...we can refer reliable babysitters in the area.
We have an age restriction for rental of this home. Contact our office for details. We reserve the right to meet face to face with guests for exchange of access materials. Sorry we only rent to families or extended families.
Cook In or Go OUT!: If you are up to cooking or grilling, you can find all the ingredients for meal preparation at Glen's Market in town (either Bellaire or Mancelona, we prefer the Bellaire store for wider selections) and test drive the gourmet kitchen!
Fox Woods is in located within a few minutes from Bellaire or the Shanty Creek Resorts where you will find a wide variety of restaurants.
Alden is a few minutes in the other direction and they have the BEST Burger at the Alden Bar!
There is plenty to do in the area.
In winter...
You can enjoy your snow machines on the miles and miles of trails. Antrim County allows snow machines on the shoulder of the roads to enjoy the area or to get to trail heads. There is secure parking on the property for your machines. Rent snow machines at Shanty Creek.
Ski Northern Michigan at Shuss Moutain which is a stone's throw away. Boyne is a 30 minute drive. There are TONS of activities around the area. We are never bored.
Traverse City is 40 minutes away!
