A true weekend getaway! Completely secluded with outstanding views from snow-capped Mt. Baker and the Cascade Range, in the east, multiple islands seemingly floating in the sound in the north and northwest, plus the sparkling lights of Vancouver in the evening.
A newer, lovely cabin on Buck Mountain awaits you. Enjoy summer light until late in the evening, followed by rosy sunsets and then, star-filled skies. 10 acres for you to enjoy walks, games, a night at the fire pit roasting marshmallows, or sitting in the hot tub enjoying the magical views!
My husband, Bathan, built this cabin for us in 2004 and it was our home for the first 5 years of our marriage. It will forever hold a special place in our hearts! It was where we were engaged, the place he carried me through the door for the first time after we said our vows, and we hope to one day move back to this beautiful, secluded property. So, please don't miss out on this opportunity to experience a one-of-a-kind getaway.
Victoria Shaner purchased this cabin in 2004
We were fortunate enough to buy this beautiful property in '99, and build our very first home, this cabin, as newly weds in 2004. When we set our eyes on this property, we knew this was where we wanted to build.
One of the most special benefits is when you first arrive. You realize you're removed from it all, surrounded by complete beauty, serenity, peace, and freedom to roam as we own the 13 acres around the cabin. It is truly a breath of fresh air every time we drive up the driveway!
"This cabin is very special-the most peaceful, quiet, place I've ever been. The perfect place to reflect, to heal. It was difficult to leave each day so this my last day, I stayed to experience every last moment. Thank you for sharing this special place."
This cabin experience was amazing! The view was better than the view I've gotten from long hikes to the mountains, but so easily accessible and without people traffic. The cabin was so isolated you could not see other houses if you tried. Total peace and quiet! Waking up in that loft with the sunrise was the best way to start the day of soaking in the hot tub and filling our time all at the cabin with no need to leave! One suggestion is to bring your own music player (or CDs) if you desire music other than radio. :)
My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights as an end of summer getaway. The cabin is quaint, clean and had everything you need, however it is the property that steals the show. The views are unmatched by any of our other adventures on the island (with the exception of maybe Mount Constitution). The hot tub and the fire pit add to the ways you can enjoy the view and the privacy of this exceptional property. The wireless is pretty stretchy, so don't plan on working while you are there, but who would want to!
My husband :) and I had an absolutely amazing awesome memorable honeymoon in this perfect cabin! We really enjoyed everything about this perfect cabin!! :) We loved the hot tub setting and really great campfire area! We are seriously wanting to duplicate it!! ;) The surroundings were definitely beautiful! It was so peaceful and quiet. We went on a kayaking adventure, an unforgettable whale watching tour, a few incredible hikes, and much more! We look forward to our next stay.
Thank you very much again -

Best vacation we have ever had. The pictures don't do it justice. Amazing place for my husband and I. We have memories to last a lifetime and mostly because the setting and privacy are the perfect mix. We never wanted to leave. We just went to the store and stayed at the cabin our entire stay. The cabin had everything we needed or wanted. I hope we can return again! I have never written a review before but this rental is so amazing and perfect I had to share. Thanks to the ownes for sharing their little piece of heaven on earth.
Beautiful property. Amazing views. Clean. Thoughtful owners. And just the right amount of space for two people. We will definitely be staying here again.
After a fun but hectic trip throughout the Pacific Northwest from Portland through Seattle to Vancouver (Canada) and back again, a couple of relaxing days on Orcas Island was just what we needed to wrap up our vacation. This place was the perfect spot for doing just that!
The cabin is incredibly cute with plenty of modern amenities for those who want them -- wifi, kitchen, fire pit, grill, hot tub, washer and drier, TV, etc. The views from the deck are remarkable! 180-degrees of waterways, other islands and Mount Baker. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises and lots of wildlife. We even saw a whale (or two) from the deck and woke to a doe and its fawn munching on grass outside the kitchen window.
We didn't do much but lounge on the deck and read, but there's plenty of hiking nearby and the cute Eastsound township is a relatively short drive away for a small bit of shopping or your grocery needs (had a wide selection).
The bedroom is a loft that you reach via ladder. Not a problem for us - very spacious yet cozy, but worth noting for anyone that might have a problem with ladders or sloped ceilings. There can be long lines on the ferry if you're traveling with a car, so plan accordingly. The Anacortes-Orcas Island Ferry website(s) were very helpful if you plan in advance.
Other Activities: racquetball, shopping, kayaking
