Amazing Townhome!

5 of 5
Submitted: January 23, 2013 Stayed: November 2012
There are a lot of options when looking for properties in the area and it can be completely overwhelming. After much research we decided upon Drew's townhouse and I am so glad we did! It far surpassed my expectations and we had a wonderful time. It really is in the perfect location. Chico is right down the road and the highway to Yellowstone is very near. At first we had looked for something a little more rustic and in the woods but after a long day exploring the park and being utterly exhausted it was so nice to have a straight drive to the townhouse without having to drive 20 minutes out of our way down some dirt road. We will most definitely be coming back. It sounds a bit selfish but this is a hidden gem and I hope it somewhat stays that was so we can keep coming back without too much competition.

As far as the property goes the photos don't do it justice. I am very picky about cleanliness and the townhouse was spotless and had all of the amenities we could possibly have hoped for. If you're on the fence about choosing properties I highly recommend the townhouse. It's a sure bet and Drew was wonderful and always just a call or text away. He was very kind and easy to work with. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Great location to stay when visiting Yellowstone

4 of 5
Submitted: November 10, 2012 Stayed: September 2012
Very nice property, which is located within a short driving distance to the north entrance of Yellowstone. The drive from the property to the park is absolutely beautiful. The condo has everything you need for a great stay. The owner of the property is a true gentleman, who really takes pride in his property and wants his guests to have a wonderful experience. He was very helpful to us, by providing information and answering all of our questions. If you stay here you have to schedule some time to visit Chico Hot Springs. It is a very short drive from the condo. It has an excellent restuarant, and the spring fed pools are remarkable and fun. When we plan our next trip to Yellowstone, we would without doubt stay in this condo again, providing it was available. The only thing that I would suggest is making certain that you stop at a grocery before heading to the condo. A drive back to the grocery for bread and milk is a bit far. Also watch out for animals. Every night when we returned to the condo we had a hurd of deer or antelope bedding down for the night. You don't want to hit one of these wonderful animals with your car. Our visits to Yellowstone while staying at the condo were remarkable. We saw a lot of animals including buffalo, elk, deer, etc. You won't be dissappointed if you choose to stay at this condo.

Fantastic Place

5 of 5
Submitted: October 1, 2012 Stayed: September 2012
4 of us from South Florida stayed in Drew's place from September 15th through September 22nd 2012. This was our first time using "Home Away" so we had no idea what to expect. We were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. We even had a welcoming committee of about 10 deer on the front lawn.
From the initial inquiry to the booking and throughout our stay Drew could not have been more helpful. He provided us with many internet links to help us plan our visit and had tons of brochures at the townhouse for last minute ideas.
The moment we walked in the door we felt comfortable and "at home". With little touches like the guitar in the corner of the living room and the family picture in the hallway Drew makes the place very welcoming.
The kitchen had just about every piece of cookware, appliances, dishes and utensils that you could possibly need. Drew has coolers of all sizes and paper products galore for picnics of any size.
The people at the "General Store" were very nice and the prices were very reasonable. We had breakfast at the "Old Saloon" our first morning. The young man who waited on us said "it's the best breakfast in Emigrant" (I have to agree). They even invited us to their Sunday night hootananny (our friend who is originally from England didn't understand! LOL).
We spent 2 days at Yellowstone and each evening came back through "Mammoth Springs". It was mating season so the elk were out in full force. Every evening at sunset the buck would round up the females in the square and yell at them if they wandered. If another male came around he would chase him off and the Rangers would be busy trying to keep the people safe in spite of themselves (tourists don't mind real well). We went back to Mammoth for an evening just to watch that show.
I highly recommend the Lower Falls aka the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone but be prepared to walk uphill. (Being from Florida at maybe 3ft above sea level and no hills we had a bit of trouble making it).
We also went to Lewis and Clark Caverns (more steep walking) but well worth it! Visit Ennis on the way to Virginia City and Nevada City for buffalo jerky at the corner meat market.
I would highly recommend Drew's place to everyone I know. Thanks Buddy and sorry about the wine glass. Cathy
Owner's Response: Cathy
I am so happy you enjoyed your stay! There are so many sights and things to do in the area and the surrounding mountains and rivers just top it all off! Having a comfortable, cozy place to return to at the end of the day has always been my goal! I plan on adding more amenities to the place to make it even better! Ultimately, when we get time away from our busy lives, it is so revitalizing to just unwind in a "home away from home" and step into a different life! The folks in the Paradise Valley are so friendly which allows you to "settle on in" and become part of the landscape! Sure beats a hotel! Again, I am ecstatic your trip was a success and please come back to your new home in the Paradise Valley! You are always welcome!
Sincerely
Drew

Lovely Stay

5 of 5
Submitted: September 5, 2012 Stayed: August 2012
The townhouse worked out perfectly for my family of five. We love the outdoors but also enjoy a hot shower and a hot meal and a bed at the end of the day. After finding out about the fire restrictions going on in the state, I was actually pretty happy we decided not to camp. We love the peace and quiet of the wilderness but can also appreciate staying just a little "plugged in". Consequently, using the townhouse as a home base for our day trips into Yellowstone worked out perfectly. The description tells the truth. The house is stocked. After 2 full days of driving, I can't tell you how nice it was to find the house so clean and well equipped (bedding, cooking implements, spices, condiments, toiletry, even bear spray and gladware/coolers for your picnics). Great stay and Drew was very helpful with any questions or concerns before your trip and just a phone call away during your trip. One thing I'd advise if your mainly planning to do Yellowstone is to stay towards one end of the park for half of your trip and the opposite end of the park for the other half. There is so much to see inside the park that this would save time and driving. Really, the only thing to be aware of in the townhouse is that the beds are firm. I actually like a softer mattress but was perfectly fine by using the extra pillows provided to get comfortable, so a five star stay for me.
