We fell in love with the property on sight. The deck afforded us the most amazing views and the wildlife, OMG!! Whales morning, noon and night every day the first week and almost daily the second week, they were probably there but we couldn't find them because of low cloud cover. There was a harbor seal on the rocks just below the deck, a resident Eagle that devoured his morning catch of rock cod each morning and so much more. The entire island is a paradise. Karen and Norman were exceptional hosts. We hated leaving!
This home is wonderful, it has the best view on San Juan Island! The whales came to welcome us upon arrival! We saw whales from the deck almost every day. The sunsets are amazing! We enjoyed the fawn and doe that came by for a daily visit. The home is very comfortable with everything you could possibly need. The property managers are wonderful. They could not have been more helpful! Thank you Karen and Norris for making our vacation perfect! We will be back!
This home is definitely the most beautiful accomodation that I have ever had while on vacation! The pictures are exactly how it looks on the inside, but it is impossible to describe the view from the living room, porch, master bedroom & bath- completely amazing! The kitchen is VERY well equipped with dishes, glasses, silverware, pots & pans, dual oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, dishwasher, and a barbeque grill. There is a huge library for pleasure reading and cookbooks as well. Other amenities are flat screen TVs with satelite, and a land line telephone. The home was extremely clean and location is right on the water on the west side of the island where the whales swim frequently. We saw whales, eagles, deer, hummingbirds, and many different sea birds. We were able to take a scenic flight, whale watch with Capt. Jim Maya, kayak, visit the lavendar and alpaca farms, go ziplining, visit the farmer's market, and spend many hours relaxing on the porch overlooking the gorgeous view and plentiful wildlife.
I want to write you a really long letter to say what a wonderful experience we had at your Home. It was way beyond what we possibly dreamed of. Every home convenience we needed was there. the view from the deck was amazing. The view from the master bed was phenomenal. The master bath too. We watched many different wonderful sunsets, and a first for me,.... a full moon set from total darkness to dawn. Amazing. We loved all of your recommendations, especially Duck Soup for our 43rd wedding anniversary. We so enjoyed the entire island and definitely want more time there. The ferry was amazing, and we were lucky enough to be on one that by chance included both a wedding and a funeral. I could go on and on. We leave full and rejuvenated. My biggest regret was not getting out on the water in your sailboat. Maybe another time......... Thank you, thank you, thank you.........
We spent a week in early June - and saw Orcas directly in front of the house 2-3x a day.
The house is spectacular - really remarkable. We had an exceptional stay and plan to return soon!
If you want to go out on a boat tour to see the whales, go with Capt Jim Maya of Maya Charters. He's extremely knowledgeable and you'll have a great time.
Whale watch, View Eagles Nesting/Feeding, Moorage at nearby Snug Harbor Marina.
