Looking for a Lake Michigan vacation? Relax and enjoy it we'll supply the cottage, the beach and the lake. We have two to choose from (if you have a large group, ask about a dual rental). The decks are roomy and the grills are ready. The kitchens are furnished with all the amenities, including the coffee maker. The bedrooms have comfortable beds. Cable and the Internet are included (so are board games and books.) Even the family dog will have a great time - we are dog-friendly!

The Great Outdoors: Is there anything like 'Up North' Michigan? We love the sound of the waves as we wake or washing us away to sleep. Enjoy them from the balcony or the roomy deck. The Arcadia Dunes Conservancy just to our north offers pristine bike and walking trails, or just visit the Scenic Lookout at the top of the hill for an unforgettable vista. If you're the water type, get in that kayak or canoe and paddle away. Try charter fishing, or test your skill on the rivers and inland lakes instead. Take the kids to the Platte River fish hatchery to see your DNR dollars in action. Maybe you are more the golfing type - Arcadia Dunes course is just three miles away, and many more courses await you in the area. Great restaurants, festivals, horseback riding, art and shopping- the list never ends. And always, the beach, the wind, and the waves to enlarge your soul.

DON'T BE FOOLED BY GOOGLE! tThe google map shows the cottages on the entry part of Burnham Drive, but we are located at the north end of the street, on the lake!! This cottage and its sister are just north of Arcadia (one mile) and about 10 miles south of Frankfort. Sitting on a small bluff, Lake Michigan's blue, blue water will take your breath away. The cottage is located on the edge of the new Arcadia Dunes nature conservancy, with miles of undeveloped beach to explore. There is so much to do and see we can't list it all here: Golf- the fantastic Arcadia Bluffs is just 3 miles away, and many, many courses are nearby. Catch a double feature at the Cherry Bowl Drive-in. Fish, canoe, hike, bike or ride horseback. Climb those nearby Sleeping Bear Dunes. Or just watch the sunset, hand in hand.

Years past, my family and I vacationed here for a week during the summers. We'd bring my whole family, neices and nephew, grandparents, etc... It is the place where MANY fond memories were made. I loved both of these cabins (we've stayed in both) and would recommend them to absolutely anyone. Even Baby, our dog, loved staying with us and running on the beach. *I can't remember the exact year/month of our last stay, but my family stayed there several years in a row under my father's name*
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
