Their main occupation as Innkeepers/Owners of Sorensen's Resort in beautiful Hope Valley, gives them a busy, fulfilling life. They have successfully operated their resort for the last 28 years, and it is located just south of Lake Tahoe/east of San Francisco at 7,000 ft in the High Sierra. They have a love of the landscape and helped preserve their area in open space through support of the Hope Valley Preservation project with the Trust for Public Land. John is an appointed member of the Sierra Nevada Conservancy and Patty is the Chair of The Sierra Fund. They were founding members of Friends of Hope Valley and The Sierra Nevada Alliance, among other groups, and support many environmental, educational, and social non-profit programs.
Sayulita, Mexico is quite a special place. Seeking refuge from a busy resort life and cold winters, Sayulita has become our home-away-from-home. It was a place we continued to return to and that made us decide to buy our home here. The beautiful, sweeping beach of Sayulita Bay is quite stunning and the sunsets are a must each evening. We love the atmosphere, the people, the food, the walks into town. Our home is comfortable and decorated with Mexican-style furnishings and art.
Whether in the quiet of the evening, the mornings or middle of the day, we enjoy the relaxation of our private infinity pool just off our front porch. Naps are hard to resist and we always bring our favorite books or listen to music. Sometimes we cook in or hire someone to cook for us. Mostly, we enjoy the many dining experiences in our neighborhood or in town...a short walk away. Our kids love to sunbathe, surf, swim and hike...a perfect family vacation.
