They were fortunate to purchase their own 6 bedroom Paradise Mountain Retreat to raise their 8 children, spoiling them with wildlife, caves, cliffs, canyons, storytelling by campfires accompanied by the music of the hooting owls, cooing doves, twitter of song birds and the whispering winds.
Miriam is a former Montessori Teacher, Pouwel is a Builder/Designer/Innovator known for his signature craftsmanship. Come and vist his last project our solar powered and heated greenhouse. The Paradise Mountain Retreat is now available as a vacation rental,to share its countless bounty and blessings with kindred spirits.

The property really choose us. It was a perfect match. we were looking for mountains, wilderness, beauty, lots of space, a comfortable and cozy family home, sheltered garden, dramatic views and all this close to the magic of Yellowstone National Park. It is a central point between Bridger Bowl Ski Resort and Yellowstone Park. And here we are one half hour away from the Yellowstone National Park and an hour away from Bozeman, a bustling university town with its cultural and natural diversities. Not to forget to mention Historic downtown Livingston(half hour away), an eclectic gallery paradise with its eateries, breweries and wine cellars.
Our children grew up with weekly Chico Hot Spring visits ( 8 minutes away), bridge jumping and floating the Yellowstone River.( 5 minutes away) But most of all they lived daily with the wildlife wonders of a mini Yellowstone Park that covered and adjoined our 20+ acres of Paradise Mountain Retreat.
The property is situated at a precise midpoint in Paradise valley minutes from premium elk and deer public land hunting grounds and prime fishing on Yellowstone River. 30 Minutes away from North entrance to Yellowstone Park with access to Lamar Valley for prime winter wildlife viewing and cross country skiing among the geysers in Mammoth Hot Springs. The Paradise Mountain Retreat is Heaven for young and old. It always surpasses everyone's expectations. It is ideal for large groups and still cozy and intimate for a intimate getaway and for small families. It is a Real Home away from Home with enough room and space, inside as well as outside, for everyone to be happy. The gourmet cooks enjoy the fully equipped gourmet kitchen, the teenagers can't wait to explore the cliffs and canyons. The younger children spontaneously kick off their shoes, run out unto the inviting lawn exploring the tepee and discovering the dug in trampoline hidden by a a circle of green bushes and then run to the swing set. They will find a family of deer or rabbits somewhere hidden close by. Moms enjoy a quiet moment in the hammock under the trees. I will not forget to mention the views from artistically placed picture windows in the house, the stillness that speaks peacefully day and night, the starry sky adored from a soothing hot tub after a day of exploring The Yellowstone National park. The house is for rent by itself, however, tenters are welcome also. The larger Tee-pee is also available for adventurous spirits!
Take advantage of the many winter activities around. Great Snowmobiling and Cross Country skiing trails in Mill Creek and Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone Park, a 30 minute drive. Downhill skiing at Bridger Bowl, a 1 hour drive. Downhill sledding or dog sledding in Mill Creek, a 30 minute drive.

Delightful stay at this beautiful mountain home.
Thank you for sharing your home, we enjoyed the beautiful weather, playing soccer on the front lawn, hiking, enjoying the hot tub and visiting Yellowstone.
All your work on making this home a comfortable vacation is appreciated!
I booked this house for my 23rd birthday weekend get away and let me just tell you... WE HAD A BLAST! The house was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Miriam was more than a gracious host, she recently put in a ping pong table which was a huge hit. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of cooking utensils and tools. The house was large and clean (plenty of room) and the hot tub warm and clean. All in all a great time! I highly suggest it.
We booked this house for my sister's 40th birthday celebration with friends and family! This home is just as you see in the photos! We had all ages from 4-67! There was plenty of room and fun for everyone! We cooked every meal at the house and had plenty of space for entertaining. The house is equipped with everything you can think of that you may need (towels, pillows, blankets, laundry room, etc.), just bring your food, beverages, and clothing! I can only wish we could have stayed longer and next time we will. It was a dream!
We chose this house as our big NYE vacation spot. We were 4 families, all with kids between the ages of 1-9. There were plenty of comfy, spacious bedrooms for everyone- including a couple bedrooms large enough for pack n plays. We all had something to do the whole time- hiking the gorgeous hills around the property, making fires outside in the fire pit, jumping on the tramp, hot tubbing and of course, ping pong! The kitchen and dining area was really the hit amoungst the grown-ups. There was plenty of space for multiple cooks and then dining table, beside the kitchen, was a perfect spot to hang while the meal was being prepped. The big treat for me was the in-floor heat. It made for a truly cozy get-away.
We made wonderful memories and are already talking about coming back during summer months.
This house was perfect for our week-long family gathering in August. The variety of sleeping configurations accommodated the 12 (ages from 7 to 68) who slept in the house. In addition, two of us slept in our RV, which we parked in the driveway.
We had all our meals in the house. The kitchen was well-equipped and we made use of the outdoor bar-be-que, the slow cooker, microwave, coffee maker, pots and pans. At our largest meal, we sat 17 in the dining area. The lovely garden provided fresh berries and tomatoes.
The setting is beautiful, with the view of Mt. Emigrant and a large lawn in front of the house. There are so many things for children: play structure, teepee, basketball hoop and balls, trampoline, not to mention the indoor games. With easy access to Yellowstone N.P., we made several day trips into different parts of the park.
One of the adults wrote: “Such a kid friendly house, we loved our stay. Loved the deer in the yard! Thank you so much!”
One of the children (age 9) wrote: “Thank you for letting us stay in this house. I really liked the trampoline.”
Another adult wrote:” This is a beautiful environment and house. Prado (miniature poodle) and I had a wonderful time enjoying both...I would return in a heartbeat.”
We celebrated my 50th birthday weekend here with 12 friends. We had a very enjoyable weekend. The official celebration Saturday Sept 6 was a combination of a lovely float on the Yellowstone River with the put in very close to the property and the take out several miles down the highway. The evening activity was celebrated at Chico Hot Springs in the wine cellar and could not have been a more special setting for my friends and I to have a lovely evening with dancing in the bar for the final night cap. We would recommend this property to others.
Our party of 8 really enjoyed our stay. The beds were comfortable as advertised, the views of the mountains are even better then the pictures. The distance to Yellowstone was perfect. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking.
