The Owner purchased this house in 1998
Why The Owner chose Emigrant

The property really choose us. It was a perfect match. we were looking for mountains, wilderness, beauty, lots of space, a comfortable and cozy family home, sheltered garden, dramatic views and all this close to the magic of Yellowstone National Park. It is a central point between Bridger Bowl Ski Resort and Yellowstone Park. And here we are one half hour away from the Yellowstone National Park and an hour away from Bozeman, an bustling university town with its cultural and natural diversities. Not to forget to mention Historic downtown Livingston(half hour away), an eclectic gallery paradise with its eateries, breweries and wine cellars.

Our children grew up with weekly Chico Hot Spring visits ( 8 minutes away), bridge jumping and floating the Yellowstone River.( 5 minutes away) But most of all they lived daily with the wildlife wonders of a mini Yellowstone Park that covered and adjoined our 20+ acres of Paradise Mountain Retreat.

What makes this house unique

The property is situated at a precise midpoint in Paradise valley minutes from premium elk and deer public land hunting grounds. Minutes away from prime fishing on Yellowstone River. 30 Minutes away from North entrance to Yellowstone Park with access to Lamar Valley for prime prime winter wildlife viewing and cross country skiing among the geysers in Mammoth Hot Springs. The Paradise Mountain Retreat is Heaven for young and old. It always surpasses everyone's expectations. It is ideal for large groups but still cozy and intimate for a couples' getaway

and for small families. It is a Real Home away from Home with enough room and space, inside as well as outside for everyone to be happy. The gourmet cooks enjoy the fully equipped gourmet kitchen, the teenagers can't wait to explore the cliffs and canyons, the younger children kick off their shoes and run out unto the lawn exploring the tepee and discovering the dug in trampoline hidden by a a circle of green bushes and then run to the swing set. They will find a family of deer or rabbits somewhere hidden close by. Moms enjoy a quiet moment in the hammock under the trees. I will not forget to mention the views from artistically placed picture windows in the house, the stillness that speaks peacefully day and night, the starry skies adored from a soothing hot tub after a day of exploring The Yellowstone National park. The house is for rent by itself, however, if you need more space we have an attached apartment available as well. Tenters are welcome also.

Take advantage of the many winter activities around. Great Snowmobiling and Cross Country skiing trails in Mill Creek or Yellowstone Park, a 30 minute drive. Downhill skiing at Bridger Bowl, a 1 hour drive. Downhill sledding or dog sledding in Mill Creek, a 30 minute drive.

Don't look any further for a great place to surround your family gathering in the peace and love surrounding this fabulous vacation spot. This was our first adventure like this and we plan to repeat it in the near future at this retreat. Miriam, Powell, and Kai are fabulous people and know how to make a home inviting for our group of 11. We loved being so close to the river for fishing and agate hunting and just enjoying the river and mud, hiking. hot tubbing, reading, sunning, star gazing, bird watching, badminton. volleyball, photography, and eating to our hearts content. In fact we enjoyed this home so much that we didn't even make it to Chico Hot Springs or the Park. Spend time here with these
folks and you will enter the real world refreshed, relaxed, and ready to return to this retreat!!!

I came to this property with a group of about 10 people. Miriam met us when we arrived and gave me a tour of the house. She also graciously offered to get two games (Risk and Monopoly) that the house did not have already.

The cabin was very nice and had a beautiful view of the mountains. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone who was visiting Yellowstone!

The description of the home is very accurate, and delivered exactly what promised. On my case it was my daughter's birthday party, we were able to acommodate all 10 kids and family comfortably. The fact that I could bring my dog was also a plus.

The best place for kids, ever (and pretty darn good for adults too)

We just returned from a thanksgiving trip with 4 couples and 8 kids all under the age of 6. This house was as perfect as it gets. Everything was kid friendly, from the great toys and books to the fabulous outside. The kids loved hiking around the rocks, playing in the teepees, and the trampoline was an absolute favorite. We had some great soccer games in the yard with the 5 year olds while the 2 year olds played on the swingset or trampoline. The place was also great for adults: clean, nice, and a great hottub. We made a huge thanksgiving dinner and the house was stocked with all the necessary cooking implements. The location is also fabulous - we spent a day at Chico, a day in the park, a day at the Natural History Museum in Bozeman, and a day just playing in and around the house. Miriam is friendly and helpful. We would highly, highly recommend this place to anyone, especially if you have kids.

Grandparents Annual Vacation

  • 5 of 5
  • Submitted: Oct 18, 2012

We have just spent 2 wonderful weeks in your cottage (Paradise Valley). Our son, Gareth, daughter-in-law Emma and grandson Evan live in Canada and as we live in the Uk we planned this trip to meet up for our annual get together.

We had a fantastic time. Playing with Evan on the trampoline and swings or chasing the rabbits in the garden which he thoroughly enjoyed. The weather was so good (23 degrees until the 3 October 7 degrees ouch!) that we were able to eat out on the patio and enjoy the beautiful views and the many deer that came into the garden.

It was quite close to Bozeman, Livingston, and the great Yellowstone Park which we visited 3 times because we couldn't get enough of it.

The accomodation was very spacious and it allowed us all (4 grandparents, 2 parents and Evan) to spread out and use it to its full potential. We had no problems and would recommend it to anyone. Although when we followed the directions on that first day we did wonder where we were going but boy oh boy what a place to stay.

We will definately be back one day (God willing) and bring our daughter Sarah and our other grandson Thomas who live in the UK with us. WELL DONE TO YOU ALL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
