The famous and maintained Finger Lakes Trail System runs right up to our Farm (website for trail conference is fltconference.org).

===45 MINUTES FROM WALTON TO EXCELLENT WINTER DOWNHILL SKIING SUCH AS BELLAYRE MOUNTAIN IN THE NORTHERN CATSKILLS=====

Come and enjoy our Catskill Mountain retreat. Private, extremely quiet, 38 acre farm with 1800's farmhouse, chicken coup, and huge post and beam barn. The property has a spring fed swimming pond (with boat) and a large year round stream with concrete bridge over to barn.

If art is your thing, then sit on the bridge overlooking our year round running stream and paint our barn.

One can fish either in our private stocked pond, stream, public reservoir with provided row boat provided (Cannonsville), or on the world famous Delaware River (our pond row boat can be easily transported for use on the river if desired).

The property also has separate campsites, one at the top of our mountain boasting a panoramic view of the Catskill mountains and valley below. Campouts work great at these spots.

Best of all, our farm borders New York City's Cannonsville Reservoir offering (with our own right of way) thousands of additional acres for recreation.

====NOTE: THE ENTIRE FARM WILL BE FOR YOUR PERSONAL USE. NOBODY ELSE WILL BE ON THE PROPERTY WHILE YOU ARE THERE=====

The reservoir itself is walking distance from the house. This reservoir offers excellent fishing, either from the shore or from our farm's reserved row boat for your personal use. The Cannonsville Reservoir is also open to sailing, canoing, and Kayaking.

At night, sit by our fire pit, look up at the stars, and you’ll think you’re in a planetarium. On Spring nights, our pond comes alive with the serene sound of peepers which will lull you to sleep.

The farm is truly a beautiful place to stay. Bird watching and wildlife photography is also a favorite past time at the Farm with Bald Eagles, Blue Herons, Wild Turkeys, deer, and other wildlife regularly seen.

Inside the home, make yourself comfortable with a game room (pool and ping pong table), stocked modern kitchen, wood stove, screened in porch, four bedrooms (large master bedroom on the main floor), open living room with exposed wooden hand hewn beams, as well as knotty pine throughout.

The house comes with its own chicken coup and you can enjoy fresh eggs every day (don't worry about feeding or caring for the chickens-they have a self waterer and self feeder).

Cozy up to the wood fire and read a book or sip some hot chocolate as you watch the snow falling gently on the fields.

Although the farm is isolated, there is free wireless internet, free coast to coast long distance telephone, as well as 2 satellite televisions (50 inch HDTV in master bedroom). We also have one VCR and two DVD players (one hooked to the 50 inch HDTV).

The house also comes with a water cooler (hot and cold) as well as a Keurig Coffee Maker (pods sold at our local supermarket). There is also a Farberware coffee percolator as well as a drip coffee maker for your use.

Rate is based on two night minimum stay:

200.00 per night. For each person above 8 in party, a 10 percent per day additional fee per person will apply. This only applies to guests over the age of 5.

------LONG TERM RENTALS CONSIDERED AT A 25 PERCENT REDUCED FEE----

A deposit of $200 is required to reserve property. Balance is due upon arrival. OWNER MEETS ALL GUESTS AND SHOWS THEM AROUND PROPERTY. If emergency comes up and you cannot rent property, the 200 dollar credit will be provided for another rental date (based on availability and within one year of original rental date).

A $200 Security deposit is required and fully refundable after departure. We hold (do not deposit) this separate check. It is either returned to guest or destroyed by owner one week after rental is complete.

There is also an $120 cleaning fee. The house will be professionally cleaned prior to your arrival (including all beds made, linens cleaned etc.).

About William A. Haas

My wife and I bought this property in 2007 as a weekend vacation spot. My wife is a teacher and I am a psychologist and we both work in the schools. We have been enjoying the farm since we purchased this great property. We have improved greatly on the property and friends have told us what a great place the farm would be to rent. We decided then to share our vacation spot with others and have never looked back.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a great time again. Even though it got down to -17F at night, we stayed plenty warm sledding and playing in the snow. Thanks to your suggestion, we selected a puppy from one of Dani Pinto's new litters. Next year, we'll be expecting to be returning with our new dog. Thanks!

Our Fourth Year in a Row

  • 5 of 5

I cannot express how much this farm means us. This year marked the fourth visit to the farm in as many years and we plan on keeping the tradition going. It is the perfect getaway from the hectic hustle and bustle of the city. Completely quiet and utterly picturesque.

Long Weekend Get-a-way!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I wanted a relaxing get-a-way with friends over the long Presidents Day weekend. We found all that we were looking for and more at Dryden Brook Farm. From the amazing views to the secluded atmosphere, you are in another world away from it all.

We all had a blast acting like kids playing in the snow and hiking in the mountains. When we were done with the cold we came in to the warmth of the roaring fire and enjoyed each others company. We were able to relax with wine, cards, board games and a few rounds of ping-pong and pool in the game room.

Bill the owner if fantastic and made sure we had all that we needed during our stay. If you are looking for a quick trip that feels a million miles away from it all, take a drive up to Dryden Brook Farm, you will not be disappointed.

perfect area for my family

  • 5 of 5

I recently visited the Dryden Brook Farm with my daughter's and a family friend. It was everything we expected then some. The owners were more then kind with allowing us to have an exciting and peaceful. Vacation all in one, by sharing their country home. I thoroughly enjoyed my tranquil row on the resivour. My daughter's loved the beautiful clear skies at night for star gazing by a camp fire. Perfect get away spot in the moutains if that's what you want. I'll be back. Thanks

Amazing family getaway

  • 5 of 5

This is an amazing property with two genuine, friendly, awesome owners. They open this home totally to you! We had fun just sitting around, playing ping pong, eating eggs from the chickens in the chicken coop or just hanging out. Nights by the fire roasting marshmallows and making s'mores were perfect! Barbecued chicken, hot dogs and hamburgers were the perfect end to a day outdoors. The stars look brighter outside at night in this serene area. It was relaxing to walk the land and listen to or watch the stream and pond. Dryden Brook Farm is great for relaxing family time. You can do as much or as little as you like. Anything works well there! We felt so at home! Thank you for a memorable stay!

Great for kids

  • 5 of 5

We and our 3 boys (ages 5 - 8) had a wonderful week here. So nice to curl up around the wood stove and watch the Winter Olympics. Also, we were blessed with a good foot and a half of snow on the ground so we had some world-class sledding ourselves on the road up to the mountain top. After two days of riding/packing it down you could sled it from the top of the mountain all the way to the bottom.

A particular deer passed through the back yard each day, to drink from the stream and nibble some of the apples that remained on one tree. We saw many different small mammals' footprints; wish I could identify them.

And our kids made the most footprints of all. They had a blast tromping through the stream and up around the mountain. And also playing with the pool table / ping pong table. If you have kids that like the outdoors, they'll probably have a great time here. Ours are already asking us to go back.

The ground floor layout is really nice: a bunch of connected open spaces, so people can be in their own area -- preparing meals, eating, watching TV, playing pool -- but still all connected. Cozy and relaxed.

Owner's Response: Thanks guys. Glad you enjoyed. We saw the "luge" track you guys built from the top to the bottom of our mountain trail and that was cool! Hope to see you again. Bill and Shari Haas

Great Friends Getaway for New Years 2014!

  • 5 of 5

The house was exactly as described. It had a very warm vibe and was spacious. It was the perfect combination of past and present. A farm house, with a neighboring chicken coupe, that also had flat panel TVs, cable television, and wi-fi! The location was amazing. There was snow everywhere and a hike path which went over a bridge and up a small mountain so that we could have an incredible view of the surrounding area and the valley. The property owners were very friendly and patient enough to answer all of our many questions. Long before we even left we we were all saying that we hope to come back in the summertime.
