'SUN DOG' , located at 11 Wauwinet Road, is a great little summer cottage overlooking Polpis Harbor. Built in 1977 and re-done in 1990 - continuously maintained and upgraded. 5 minute walk to harbor for swimming/kayaking or taking sailing lessons with Nantucket Community Sailing (based in Polpis Harbor). Lots of lawn, open space, views of the harbor, plus hammock, swing and porches for the evening sunsets or morning deck for breakfast. Very private and pet friendly.

Property is near shuttle bus stop on Polpis Road and the Polpis Bike Path, 5 mile drive to Nantucket, 4 mile drive to 'Sconset Village, 2 miles to various ocean or harbor beaches or Sesechacha Pond. Master bedroom has king-size bed (and TV) and overlooks harbor. Master bath has tub/shower. Second bedroom is off the dining room with built in beds and play loft above. Third bedroom is a loft up a spiral staircase above the TV room, also with built in beds. Downstairs bathroom has shower and the washer & dryer. Living room also overlooks the harbor and has large fireplace. Porch for evening sunsets is off the living room. TV room is next to living room with French doors to the back lawn. Kitchen/dining area is a few steps below with private views and back deck for meals outside or morning coffee. Great lawn area for badminton and other outside family sports. Outside shower is terrific. Owned by a local artist and his wife who lived there year-round with their children, and still live on island. Because of the play lofts and spiral staircase to third bedroom we do not suggest it is a good house for unsupervised small children. Checks or credit cards accepted.
