Have you ever been to a place at night where the stars were so close you felt like you could reach out and touch them? Where you can wake up to the sounds of a running mountain river? If you're lucky you just might see a great Bald Eagle swoop down from the cliffs. Well, if you want to go some place where nature, quiet, and privacy is important then you've got to visit the Little Red Tree House on the beautiful Little Red River, near Heber Springs, Ar. Located in the exclusive Wildflower Subdivision nestled up against the cliffs of the Spring Mountains with our own natural 50 acre lake in our front yard.

Just think, your own 8 acres and over 200 yards of riverfront. Our dock ,w/ light, sits on a hole over 30' deep for pole fishing. We are also 25 yards up river from the famous Libby Shoals, which is absolutely fantastic for fly-fishing.

If the river is running or the Trout aren't biting, then you can jump in our boat at the lake with our trolling motor and catch all the Bass or Brim you could ever want.

The Little Red River is 32 miles of world-class trout stream and home of the world record German Brown Trout (40 lb 4 oz). Four species of trout can be caught - Rainbows, Browns, Cut-throats and Brookies. At the Little Red, you can fly-fish, use artificial lures or live bait. Drive about ten minutes and you are at Greers Ferry Lake. This clean, clear-water 40,000 acre lake is home of the world record Walleye (22 lb 11 oz) and Hybrid Striped Bass (27 lb 5 oz).

The lake also serves as a playground for all kinds of water sports. Eighteen parks around the shoreline provide modern campgrounds, boat launches, swim areas and marinas.

  • Three of the Four bedrooms have TV's with Cable. The 4th room with one queen bed and one twin bed does not have a TV. The Living Room has a 7' couch that is deep enough for sleeping as well.

Notes: No internet access, but 3g service works well on the dock. We recommend Matt Millner of Jamie Rouse Fly Fishing adventures, the only Orvis recommended guide service on The Little Red River. Jamie is a neighbor of Wildflower and we have had many great times with Matt and Jamie on the river. Simply put, they are the best in these parts. Wonderful house! Better than photos. Great location, pet friendly and large enough for our Nashville & Texarkana relatives to join us. Home owner available at all times by phone or text in the event you have questions. Huge field in front of the home was a favorite with my son and husband who had fun with their remote controlled boy toys. Master bedroom is on the main living level for old bats like me who avoid stairs. Hope to return again in the future!

Another Wonderful Visit

We are so in love with this house. Can't decide my favorite experience. Looking at stars while in the hot tub? Catching trout at the dock? Looking at the trumpeter swans in the lake that are visiting for the winter? Heck, there are so many things to do while staying at this house you are sure to have an enjoyable stay. Stayed at many other houses/cabins in the area and this is by far our favorite.

Consider a visit to The Little Red Tree House. If for a weekend, a week, or (in our case) a month, we think you'll love it.

The tree house is located in a quiet quality neighborhood with several pleasant roads for walking, and really nice neighbors - friendly, helpful, and welcoming. You'll find the tree house in a secluded spot above the river. You can expect a well appointed house, comfortable beds, and well stocked kitchen (even sharp knives)! You'll be staying in a real home away from home with several areas just waiting for your family to gather. Be sure to enjoy cocktails on the deck or on the dock! The view is wonderful.

Since the house is right on the river this makes for effortless fishing. In our case, our knowledge of fishing etc. is minimal. When Mike Bowen, the owner, heard that we'd be having grandkids visit he sent over a young man to set us up and help us get started for successful trout fishing. Lots of fun and several grilled rainbow trout dinners followed! What a thoughtful thing for him to do!

I'd be remiss if I didn't encourage you to explore Greers Ferry Lake during your visit. It's beautiful and is one of our country's clearest lakes. We kept our boat at the Dam Site Marina which is about 10 or 15 minutes from the tree house. We were pleased with this facility.

Lastly, be sure to take a cup of coffee down to the dock early in the morning to watch the mist lift off the river and the sun rise. Oh, yes! You'll love visiting the Little Red Tree House.

Everything imaginable is provided.
So much room to spread out (inside as well as out).
The location is ideal. I strongly recommend this unit to families and multiple couples for active play.
We never budged once we unpacked. No need.
Enjoyed being able to bring our Scottie, Piper.
She ran in the four acre field until she could run no more.
Scenery cannot compare. Except for trout fishers across the river, never saw another person.
Complete privacy. Hope to return.
