LOG HOME NEAR SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO WITH MILLION DOLLAR VIEW

Santa Fe Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Upper: 3 Bedrooms + Loft 2 baths Sleeps 7 to 8 Downstairs: Sleeps extra 2

Located 3.67 miles up Cow Creek Road, log home has upper rental space of 2300 sq. ft. of log home with 800 sq. feet of deck. You can see three mesas on a clear day. The size of two bedrooms offers the feeling of great space for each person or couple. There is a separate living space where the 4th bedroom and bath are located downstairs. You either rent the top or bottom or both. The loft is also a sleeping space, popular with children. The Glorieta Mesa runs directly in front of the windows of the log home. The mesa changes in color as the day progresses and the weather changes. Should you be lucky enough to have a thunderstorm, there is a light show you will always remember. The sunsets and night skies are magnificent. I believe it is one of the most beautiful views in New Mexico. There is another apartment below which can be rented. Offers another 1200 sq. feet. Another kitchen , one bedroom and large bathroom.

There is a hammock for those who want to cuddle with a blanket and see the beauty of the night sky. There is also patio seating on the deck. In June, the wind gusts are 50 or 60. Furniture blows around and can hit windows. So, they are to be pulled to protected side of deck. A grille is available for fun outdoor dinners. There is wildlife to be seen. Deer, wild turkeys and a few larger species of wildlife may be seen. The larger wildlife is seldom seen but there are some. (Large coyotes, bears, bobcats, mountain lions, some say wolves) . There is a full service kitchen in both the apartment and also the main upper log home. Trader Joes and Whole Foods in Santa Fe offer great supply shopping or the Clines Corners (Eldorado) Exit and up the road to the left has a very large and nice shopping area with a coffee bean store, etc. The drinking water is pure and has a wonderful taste. Beds are very comfortable. The log home has a warm, inviting feel. There is a gate at the entrance which can be locked. Pictures do not do the home justice. Very nicely decorated. Teal large Egyptian wool rug in Master bedroom and very nice huge rug in living room area. This log home is very cozy.

My late husband, age 53 died unexpectedly in 2009. We built this log home to be our retirement home. Initially, we were going to build a small log home but this turned out to be 4500 square feet, 3200 sq. ft. in use. It is quite beautiful. I now own a business on the East Coast and in 2012 moved to New Mexico permanently. I have decided to rent this log home as a vacation rental and know all who rent it will be taken with the area and all it has to offer. And the view will amaze you. I believe it is one of the most beautiful views in New Mexico.

Nikki purchased this cabin in 1996

We built this home in this location because it is close to Santa Fe, New Mexico but gives an illusion of being secluded. The area is adjacent to a National Park and the views are spectacular.

We back up to a National Forest and Pecos, New Mexico is an amazing town with many celebrities living in the town. It even has a medical center along with quite a few good restaurants. It is a hikers paradise. And for those who love shopping, eating and art, Santa Fe is just down the road. Once you come down the mountain and spend 10 to 15 minutes driving out from Pecos to the main highway, you are 20 to 25 minutes from Santa Fe. So you have the best of both worlds, you have the feel of privacy and total relaxation and the nearness of a city for many events and great restaurants. Friends of mine have said that they love just being up at the log home reading and taking in the beautiful sunsets and beautiful star filled nights.

LOVED EVERYTHING

  • 5 of 5
Our family of four adults spent 10 wonderful days in this secluded cabin in the Pecos National Forest, a short drive from Santa Fe. We were surrounded by forest, yet had a clear view to mesas, mountains and beautiful sunsets. The cabin was very clean and wonderfully furnished with comfortable seating and bedding. The living room, dining room and kitchen were large and all afforded an ever changing mountain view. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, cookware, utensils, bake ware and the pantry was overflowing with necessary items. Lots of towels, sheets and blankets as well as a well stocked laundry room. Perhaps the best part for us was the huge wrap around deck with seating, a grill and that hummingbird feeder was a joy. At night we soaked up the night sky with hundreds of stars, the Milky Way and a few shooting stars. Every day was an adventure for us. Even though we were familiar with New Mexico, there is so much to see and enjoy in that beautiful state. Our host, Nikki, was very attentive to our needs and was a great source of information on a variety of restaurants and things to do in a wide area surrounding Northern New Mexico. It was a magical place and one we want to return to again and again.

Romantic Weekend with a very special friend

  • 5 of 5
This was our best weekend at this property yet. We were tired of the heat and knew we needed to get away to a refreshing atmosphere. On previous visits we saw wild turkeys scratch through the trees around the cabin. We then saw numerous flocks just over the hill in the nearby valley, along with mule deer and elk. The last visit, in early summer, the hummingbirds and finches were active all around the deck and a pair of bald eagles stopped by for a brief visit. But this time was the best. Shortly after our late evening arrival a big black bear ambled across the property and never seemed to notice us watching from the big windows. Amazing. The next morning the coyotes started singing at the same time that we set the coffee maker to begin brewing. What a wonderful way to start the day. The cool and refreshing air on the deck made the coffee feel even better than usual. After a day exploring the back roads through the mountains, we grilled some steaks, roasted some corn, and baked some potatoes all on the outdoor grill and fell asleep together in the hammock on the deck. It eventually got too cool outside and we retreated to the luxurious master bedroom with the windows open and the air flowing through. And not a mosquito to be found. More of the same the next day and not a hint of the work a day world we left behind for this luxurious get away. Returning soon!

Breathtaking!!!!

  • 5 of 5
Nikki,
What a gorgeous log home you have high up in the mountains! This home has it all: enough bedrooms, bathrooms, open kitchen dining area, & warm inviting living room. The two fireplaces were wonderful and well used during our stay. This place was better than described - breathtaking inside and outside. We felt like we were hidden up in the forest, surrounded by trees and beauty. Plenty of places to hike around the log home, close enough to drive to Pecos for a dvd rental & hiking at the ruins, or 30 minutes from Santa Fe for shopping & grabbing a bite to eat. We even had snow a couple of days & felt so cozy inside watching it fall. Thank you for sharing your log home with so many. Enjoyed our stay tremendously and will return again!

Great Cabin

  • 5 of 5
My wife, son and his family all enjoyed a week at this cabin. We had dozens of hummingbirds just outside our main window. The cabin is great, the view is excellent. It is easy driving from Pecos and close enough to a stream to catch some trout. We had a great week.

UNBELIEVABLE!

  • 5 of 5
We spent Christmas and New Year's here - it was fantastic. Beautiful view! The interior of the home is gorgeous - the nicest "log cabin" I've ever seen!

We had a lot of snow which made it even more magical!

We had a great family gathering, lots of good memories and lots of fun!

We can hardly wait to visit here again, perhaps in the spring or summer.

Great description!

  • 5 of 5
We're a higher education couple looking for some peace/quiet and we found a terrific place that was exactly what we were loooking for. Beautiful views, just remote enough, and as much adventure as we were willing to take on....and then some. We found the kitchen perfect for what we wanted and the master suite was great. On one of our adventures (4 wheeling) we saw elk, a wolf, several deer and more birds than we could count.
Our hostess could not be any better (although she lives out of state) and the "caretaker" is a source of limitless information. This is a NO RISK home...it's great.
