The Sand Bucket Cottage is the best equipped retreat for the money in Pacific Beach. We back this with a price match guarantee, that we will meet or beat any competitor's quote whose accommodation has comparable features.

We spent three years looking for the right property with great 'bones'. We purchased at a price lower than anybody else, undertook a major renovation to bring you the highest quality accommodation at the best possible price.

Consequently, you will find features in our cottage that our competitors do not have such as; hardwood floors, cozy gas fireplace, a full second bathroom in-conjunction with a premium cable package on a HDTV with integrated DVD and complementary Wi-Fi, a gas BBQ, washer dryer, fire pit and all the comforts of home!

Others have sought to imitate us, but no-one can match the combination of features, quality and price.

Only 1/2 a mile to expansive sandy beaches on the most picturesque part of the Washington coast. Sleeps up to 8 people, great for families, with a focus on kid friendly activities with many toys and games.

The cottage features two bedrooms, the master has an attached private bathroom and it's own deck to enjoy the morning sun. The oversized front BBQ deck faces west, relax while enjoying the sunset. About Emily Compton

Owned and renovated by Emily and Rob in late 2008, we live and work in Seattle and try to escape to our ocean retreat on a frequent basis. We have two young children so this is a perfect distance from Seattle to get away.

Emily's family have been visiting Pacific beach annually since the mid 1980s. The beach never gets old, beautiful and warm in summer, the winter is often just as much fun with some great storms and clamming on certain weekends. It provides us with a relaxing respite from the stresses of city life.

What makes this cottage unique

We specialize in being both a family friendly and pet friendly location. To make your stay as easy as possible if you have young children we have made available many things you would need for small children, including a pack and play, high chair, small chair for 2 - 5 year olds, numerous toys and boards games for all ages. A full compliment of cable channels and DVDs help for those downtime moments.

We also provide dog towels and an outdoor hose to help clean your dog. For the chefs amongst you, the kitchen is fully stocked for your needs, including a griddle and food processor as well as some spices and olive oil. Complimentary Starbucks coffee and tea is provided for you to enjoy during your stay.

Perfect Getaway- Very well appointed

A weekend with rain and sun (!!!) and a perfect place to getaway and relax. The property is as described and photographed in the listing. The bed in the Master was comfy and warm. The kitchen was very well supplied- best of any VRBO that we've experienced. The cottage was clean and bright and homey.

Although we didn't use it, the fact that there was a hairdryer in the bathroom shows that the owners are interested in the guests conveniences and comforts.

Enjoyed the fireplace and the DVD player.

We walked to the restaurant at the Navy station for breakfast one morning after a walk on the nearby beach. You really get the feel for the small beach town with the clam diggers on the beach and at the restaurant!

We would recommend to others and will keep on the top of the list for future visits to the area.

Great getaway in Pacific Beach!

We had a wonderful time at the Sand Bucket cottage last weekend! The cottage looks exactly like the photos and is very cozy and comfortable. The kitchen was outstanding with everything we needed to stay in and cook almost every night. The beds were super comfortable and our daughter enjoyed having the choice of two different beds :) The location is not on the beach, but very close so we could easily walk or drive down within minutes. We also really appreciated the friendly neighbors who helped in jumping our car and letting us use their phone when the car battery died unexpectedly. Overall a great relaxing getaway!

It's not ocean front, but provides good beach access (300 yards away) but is priced to allow for those looking for superior quality without the cost. We do have another ocean front cottage for those wishing for that aspect.

We are sorry to hear about your car trouble, glad our very nice neighbors helped you resolve the issue.

Cozy and well located

My family and I had a wonderful stay! A clean, bright, cozy and warm home with all the amenities. Games, movies, fireplace and extremely well-stocked kitchen made life easy and fun. The beaches were all easy walking distance and the beds were extremely comfortable. I would highly recommend this sweet little spot!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sand Bucket Cottage. It was extremely clean and represented itself very well in the pictures that are posted on the internet. The cottage had all the amenities of a regular house so we didn't have to bring anything. One set back of our adventure is that the fireplace did not work. We contacted the house keeper, and she said that the previous renters had an issue with the fire-
place not working. I am not sure how long the house went without a renter before we got there, but some sort of maintenance should have been done to it. Considering it was October, cold and rainy, that was a highlight that we were looking forward to, so we were a bit disappointed.
I would recommend the cottage to others. We have talked about maybe returning again, perhaps in the summer so we truly enjoy the experience.
It was fun seeing the razor clam diggers. We enjoyed our trip upto Lake Quinalt and the rain forest. We also stopped by the Quinalt Casino for a bit. We walked the beach and resembled a couple of drowned rats when we returned to the cottage. Thank God for the dryer!! Pacific Beach was not exactly a happening place in mid-October, but I am pretty sure there is a lot to do in the Summer.
All in all, we enjoyed ourselves and enjoyed a very nice experience at the Sand Bucket.
