Relax in our peaceful home located in Kiawah's West Beach area. Our low country retreat is located within an easy 350 yard walk to Kiawah's stunning 10 mile long beach and overlooks both the 15th fairway of the Cougar Point Golf Course and a beautiful lagoon.
Set well back from the road and privately situated against the lagoon and golf course, you'll hear little to disturb the silence other than the gentle surf, the breeze rustling through the tall pines and the occasional fish or bird splashing into the water. With four bedrooms, each with private bath, our 4600 square foot home accommodates up to ten guests.
FIRST FLOOR: The large living room features dramatic vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the lagoon and golf course. Hardwood floors, abundant comfortable seating, a baby grand piano, and a game table add to the relaxed elegance. A half-bath is located off the living room. The dining room will comfortably seat up to eight guests at the large table, while in the kitchen, up to nine guests can be accommodated at the breakfast bar which seats three and the breakfast nook which seats six.
Both rooms have sliders that upon onto a screened porch directly above the lagoon. The porch has a 4-person dinette and 2 lounge chairs. Preparing meals for a crowd is easy with a large side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, double oven, microwave, glass cook-top, 2 sinks and plenty of kitchen equipment.
The first floor also has a library retreat with comfortable seating, a large desk for those who can't leave work behind, a stereo (including a CD player and turntable with hundreds of albums) and an entire wall of books available for your enjoyment. Completing the first floor is the master bedroom suite with hardwood floors, high ceilings, a king sleigh bed, a TV, his and hers closets, and a private bath with whirlpool tub and separate stall shower.
SECOND FLOOR: The second bedroom is furnished with a queen bed and also has a twin daybed and trundle bed. A third bedroom is furnished with a queen bed. Both of these bedrooms have private baths and private balconies. The second floor also hosts a large, bright laundry room with full size washer and dryer.
THIRD FLOOR: The third floor TV room features a home theater system with 60' 1080p TV, a 5-speaker surround sound system and a Blu-Ray player. The wide landing of this floor has been furnished as a cozy conversation nook overlooking the living room. The fourth bedroom is furnished with two twin beds and has a skylight and a private bath with a claw-footed tub and stall shower.
Our home has the advantage of being situated in a well established neighborhood about a mile from the entrance gate, close to dining and shopping at Freshfields village and away from the new construction at the far reaches of the island. Access miles of bike paths two blocks from the house or ride on the 10-mile beach, which is accessed directly at the end of our street. (Several companies will deliver beach cruiser bikes right to our door and pick them up at the end of the week.}
Top-rated tennis facilities are a pleasant 15 minute walk from the house as is the marsh tower affording magnificent sunset views over the Kiawah River. Our house is directly on one of the 5 championship golf courses located on the island. One of these, the famed Ocean Course, has hosted the Ryder Cup and the 2012 PGA Championship.
