CHARMING CAPE COD HOME - WALK TO BEACH, TOWN, BIKING & HIKING

Harwich - Harwichport House Rental Photos and Description

House, 5 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8 )

Our West Harwich home has all the charm of yesteryear with the comforts and conveniences of today. You will find a mix of the old and the new, with wide pine floors, lots of windows, Cape Cod dormers and a farmhouse feel balanced with the newly updated kitchen and baths, cable TV and wireless Internet access. With sleeping accommodations for 8, our home is well suited for two small families, a large inter-generational family, a girls get away or a few couples. A large open living area and three outdoor living spaces - a large deck, a patio/grill area and a screened front porch - provides plenty of room both inside and out for togetherness. There are also lots of nooks and crannies for that late afternoon nap or reading.

We are located on a quiet street, 4/10 mile from Nantucket Sound beaches. Additionally our location offers easy access to the Cape Cod Rail Trail (and we have bicycles for your use!), you can walk to a park at the end of our street with trails and a playground for children or walk in the other direction to town for ice cream, pizza, art galleries, shops and restaurants. We think it's the perfect spot for rest, relaxation and fun!

Our home comfortably sleeps 8 people. There are two bedrooms on the first floor (1 queen, 2 twins) and a full bathroom. The upstairs has three bedrooms (1 queen, 1 full, 2 twins) and another full bath. Each room has a dresser, night stands and reading lamps. Some have a small TV as well. The beds are comfortable and cozy. You'll sleep well after a day in the sun, swimming, good food and drink, a bike ride or a round of golf. There is something very peaceful about falling asleep in the quiet Cape Cod night, with the ocean breeze and the sweet smell of sea air.

The house comes with a fully equipped kitchen, including lobster pot and crackers (you will need to supply your own bibs!). There is a coffee maker, microwave, oven, toaster, and dishwasher. There is a gas grill on the patio. Common spices are stocked in the kitchen for your use as well. For those of you not so into cooking, there are many great restaurants and local take-out places in Harwich. The bathrooms are newly updated and very clean. We also have a washer and dryer on the first floor and a large outdoor shower.

Our home will be well prepared for your arrival. Upon entering you will note the warmth and simplicity of the decor and begin to unwind and relax. The house will be immaculately cleaned (with environmentally friendly products), the beds will be made and the outdoor furniture set-up. All you will need to do is unpack and meander to the grocery to stock up for the week. If something is not right, we are just a phone call away to make it right!

Cape Cod Charm - All Year Long!

Although most people think that summer on Cape Cod is the best season, we love the Cape all year long. Each season offers its own special magic. Fall is beautiful with the changing color of the leaves, the warm bay and ocean water, cranberry fall festivals and craft shows, the always available seafood, warm days and cool nights. Springtime on the Cape is when everything comes alive - the budding trees, the flowers, the calm sea and lots of pre-season specials. Winter is truly the quiet time on the Cape, but there is a special feel from Thanksgiving to Christmas in the small towns and villages. Shopping for holiday gifts, looking at the lights and long walks on the beach are some of the highlights. And summer - sun, swimming, bike riding on the rail trail, kayaking, mini golf, ice cream, barbecues, outdoor showers, walks along the shore and just hanging out - what more could you ask for?

Our West Harwich Charmer has quickly become a place we call home. It is our little piece of quiet simplicity in a sometimes hectic world. We know you will love it as well. Let us know if you would like to visit.

Just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know what a wonderful week we had at your home in West Harwich. Walking in to a familiar place made it especially enjoyable. We didn't want for anything - coming in via plane (as opposed to packing up a car from our own home) we truly appreciate how well you keep the home stocked. Spices and seasonings, check. Beach towels and chairs, check. Tin foil and plastic wrap, check. The A/C units were only used a couple of nights to take the heat out before going to bed, but they are certainly nice to have! Aside from beach days, we took the bikes up to the rail trail, had ice cream every day, and enjoyed a fantastic dinner at the Ebb Tide (our first time there) Our daughter loves the go-karts, mini golf, and kayaking. My husband is a HUGE fan of the movie 'Jaws' so it was a big thrill for him to see it on the big screen at the Orpheum theater in Chatham. Despite this being our 4th visit to the Cape there are still a lot of activities we haven't yet done (Natural History Museum in Brewster, Cape League baseball game) that we're already plotting our next trip for July 4th, 2016! :)

Enjoy the rest of the summer!

Summers on Cape Cod are a tradition for us. It is really a place where memories are made. I will soon be an 'empty nester' and look forward to exploring the Cape in the off season and sharing the Cape in the summer with my 'grown' children, friends and family. I am a licensed psychologist by day - the outdoors, the fresh sea air, the meandering in quaint shops and little towns and good food on the Cape feed my soul.

Robin Sesan purchased this house in 2010

We spent many summers vacationing and exploring Cape Cod before deciding to purchase our home in West Harwich. For us, Harwich 'has it all'. Ideally located half-way between either end of the Cape, Harwich has spectacular salt water beaches on Nantucket Sound, the largest fresh water ponds, miles of biking and hiking trails, conservation land, boating, fishing and award winning golf courses. The seven villages of Harwich all have their own unique feel, with fabulous restaurants, shops and art galleries. Harwich is a small New England town. The feeling is relaxed and the people are friendly. And we have the Harwich Mariners, our own Cape Cod Baseball League team.

We looked at many houses before purchasing this home. Our home has a simple elegance to it, with a calm, cozy and relaxed feel. There is nothing more enjoyable than sitting on the deck, drinking coffee in the morning and listening to the birds and Nantucket Sound. We love that we can walk to the beach and to town and that children feel safe in the neighborhood and are able to explore on their own. As food lovers, we also enjoy the many restaurants close by and ice cream 'on demand'.

This is the 3rd year we have vacationed in this home. We love it!! The home is clean and is actually bigger than it appears. When inside you feel like you are in a home not a cottage. The location works well with us. We take a short walk to the walking track for our morning walk but our younger family members jog in the surrounding neighborhood. We enjoy Earle Beach but have visited other beaches too. We treat ourselves to Bonatt's bakery located in Harwich for " meltaways and dirtbombs". The is a grocery store nearby and RiteAid and 7-11 within walking distance. Chatham fish market is another favorite spot of ours. They steam and crack our lobster order every year! The owner is an email away and will be quick to respond to any needs you have!!

Amazing!

WOW! What a place! Stayed here for a few days for vacation. The house was great. Plenty of room. Accessible to the beaches, great restaurants and of course "Ice Cream". Absolutely loved the outdoor shower. Beds were comfortable and home was immaculate. Very cozy and always felt relaxed. House had air conditioning but did not need it because the weather was cool enough. Will definitely stay here again in the future.

Terrific extended family vacation

  • 5 of 5
We had a great stay at this lovely home. We had three generations and everyone had their own space plus there were plenty of places for us to hang out together. Some of us loved the beautiful backyard, some the shady deck and others the screened porch. The kitchen was well appointed and had everything we needed. It was great to have bikes and plenty of beach chairs. We went to the nearby beach by bike and by car (easy parking which is very nice in Cape Cod!). We enjoyed the great ice cream nearby and the convenience of grocery stores, etc. We would certainly return!

Wonderful vacation spot!

  • 5 of 5
Our family had a terrific visit to the Cape, with this fabulous spot as our home base. The house has plenty of room and provides multiple places for lounging, reading, playing games, and visiting. We loved being able to walk to the beach or into town to take a yoga class, shop, or grab an ice cream cone. Some of us took the bikes out and explored the area. The house has great amenities, such as the large deck and outdoor shower, which has both hot and cold water. I would highly recommend this property for anyone visiting the Cape!
