This water front cabin was built in 2005 on beautiful Deer Lake in the heart of northern Michigan. With over 1750 sq ft and plenty of open space and windows, this cabin is truly unique and yet cozy. In both the summer and winter, there is plenty to do from water and snow skiing to golf, boating, swimming, snowmobiling or just enjoying the outdoors. The property is directly on Deer Lake and is furnished with 2 decks, a patio, 2 porches and a large 8 man hot tub. The inside is nicely decorated with cabin furniture, but also has TVs, DVDs and stereo. All Kitchen utensils and a washer and dryer. The location is perfect to explore all that Northern Michigan has to offer.
Cottage: The cottage was built in 2005 with an open floor plan. There are plenty of windows and great views of the sunsets over Deer Lake. In addition to a large living room and Kitchen, the cottage has a large loft (with TV and seating for 5) plus a beautiful sun room with seating for 6-8 and windowed on all sides. The kitchen has all modern amenities, including; micro, stove, oven coffee maker,toaster, dishwasher, and washer & dryer.
Property: Located directly on Deer Lake, the property has a large deck at the waters edge and sandy bottom swim area. Deer Lake is a clean northern Michigan all sports lake with over 375 acres to boat, swim, water ski and fish on. There is plenty of privacy and property to play volleyball or any other field sport. Located on a dead end street, the property is secluded and quiet, but just minutes from all the action.
Northern Michigan Area: The area surrounding the cottage is full of great restaurants and beautiful scenery. From the crystal clear waters of Deer Lake and Lake Charlevoix, to the 100's of acres of open space and Boyne Mountain. All that northern Michigan has to offer is all within less than 20 minutes, including: Lake Charlivoix, Boyne City, Charlivoix, Petoskey, Odawa Casino, Harbor Springs, Bay Harbor, Gaylord and some of the best golfing and skiing in the mid-west.

This will take you to the corner of our private road (unmarked Petts Drive). Just turn onto Petts Drive and we are at the end (about .1 miles or 5 cottages). Every year we take a trip to boyne this is our fourth year doing the trip and our third time staying here. We love this place cause it's a nice open layout and a lot of room for everyone there. The hot tub needed a little maintenance work to get the water levels healthy to stay in, fortunately our friend owns a hot tub and knew what he was doing cause when we got there it was not safe enough to get in.
We asked for a later check out and the owner said it was ok but we were kind of bum rushed out when the temp cleaning lady showed up and told us she had another group checking in an hour which I later found out was not true, thus causing us to rush out of the house which led my girlfriend to forget cash in one of the drawers which when we called back was nowhere to be found.
All in all it's a great place to stay, it's inexpensive, the sound system and open layout make it great for hosting friends and family, bring your clothes and you're set. The owner is difficult to get a hold of but once you do and book it's smooth sailing.
Like any rental property make sure you wash the sheets before you sleep on anything because you never know.
All in all after all the hurdles you will have no complaints in this property, it's worth the money and it's a great place to make memories. We will be back
My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon. We arrived on Sunday and started noticing things throughout the next day. The place didn't look ready for our arrival. Dusty, dirty floors, lawn was not mowed, deck was not swept, boats were not ready. For the money we paid it was not what we were expecting at all. The cabin itself if beautiful but a little rundown with patches on the walls throughout. We contacted the owner by email the morning we were checking out, June 15, 2013 and never heard anything from them. I sent another email and still never heard anything. It has now been 2 weeks. This is very bad business in our eyes and has earned this bad review. This cabin was reserved and paid for months in advance and so there is no reason that it shouldn't have been ready. Don't waste your money, go to a beautiful CLEAN resort instead.
Having rented numerous homes in Boyne including homes in the Reserves, this was one of the best stays I've had. The proximity to the resort, the fantastic view of the lake and surrounding nature is wonderful and breathtaking. This is a fabulous home for both families and couples to rent. You don't have to bring anything but your clothes with you. Grocery stores are less than 5 miles away as well as excellent restaurants. This will always be my first choice from now on when visiting Boyne. BTW...don't let the picture fool you....this home is huge on the inside!!!
What an awesome place for a winter get away. We were able to enjoy the close proximity to Boyne Mountain for skiing. Everything you need is there, all the cooking utensils/grill you name it. The interior is clean, furniture is comfortable and like new condition. There is there is plenty of space for people to relax and hang out. The Hot Tub off the deck was awesome after a long day of skiing. I will be renting this place again next year!
Great place to stay, very family friendly! Two families shared the house and had a great time. The house has a great layout for everyone to be together or have their own space between the open kitchen/great room, loft, florida room and 3 spacious bedrooms! Although it does not map out on a navigation and was difficult to find without daylight it turned out to be short drive to Boyne.
The cottage is a nicely kept getaway with a great location. The place is stocked with all of you could ask for like towels, kitchen amenities, bedding, toilet paper, trash bags, soap, etc... Grocery and other conveniences are a short drive away.
For those inclined to stay in, there is a gas grill, lovely views, a hot tub, wifi, cable TV and a fire pit. If you're looking to go out to restaurants, Boyne City and Boyne Resort are five minutes away...Petoskey is less than 20 minutes away. The golf down the road at Boyne is great. The fishing straight out in front of the house is excellent (just take the paddleboat to the dropoff).
Boyne City has a wonderful farmers market on Wednesday and Saturday. Friday evening, B.C. has "Stroll the Streets", which is a great time to walk around, listen to live music and grab an ice cream cone. The putt-putt course is second to none.
Here's the deal - even if you are pickiest nit picker - it is hard to find fault with this cabin or the vacation it'll serve as a home base for. The swimming out front is not great for older kids is the only possible caveat (but it is great for young kids because it is shallow with a sandy bottom for the first 50 feet from shore).
N.B. For those with younger kids, the B.C. Pizza in Boyne City has a great play area inside and some pretty decent pizza to boot. And, on the one day it rained, we went to Avalanche Bay. My kids are still talking about it.
Located on beautiful Deer Lake, a 375 acre spring feed all sports lake. The cottage is across the street from Boyne Mountain Resort and less than a mile from the Resort's golf center and ski slopes. Only 5 minutes from Boyne City and Lake Charlivoix and 20 minutes or less from Petosky, Charlivoix, Bay Harbor, Harbor Springs, Gaylord and the brand new Odawa Casino. In the summer enjoy swimming, boating, fishing and miles of hiking and biking trails. In the winter, the best ski slopes in Michigan are only minutes away along with snowmobiling, sledding, skating and cross country skiing.
