We completely enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It's a great spot to get away the hustle & bustle of daily ordinary life. It has plenty of space, yet still has a cozy charm about it. The stream beside the house was very relaxing to sit and listen to on the screened in porch.
We definitely look forward to returning!!
I have stayed in this little village before in other cabins but this one took the cake. This particular cabin is all the way at the top of the road so there was NO ONE passing by. This cabin was partly an old cabin that had an addition and has been upgraded. So the charm of the old cabin is there but the amazing amenities of the new cabin are there too.
First fight over the old blue bedroom (that is what I called it) in the back of the house up the spiral staircase. 3 sides have windows and there is something amazingly relaxing and quaint about that room. Every single day I went in there and just sat for a few minutes to enjoy the sounds, smells and the charm of the room.
Hopefully if you get the chance that it's a cool day or evening start up that wood stove. It burnt about 4 pieces of wood in the day but it kept the entire house warm.
The kitchen and bathrooms in these village homes are better than anything I have ever experienced. We have stayed at the beach before but these cabins are like staying at a friends home. There was every amenity that you could need even a towel warmer for bath towels.
Each day that I took my baby dogs outside to walk when we would come back up to the house I just could not get over the flowers blooming and at night I turned on the "special" lights outside and it just felt like I was in the Mediteranean. It was so sweet and comfortable.
The creek at the end of the road might be heard over the creek to the side of the house but spending time on the sleeping porch is a must.
CHARMING DOESN'T DESCRIBE IT. I loved this house and every moment we spent in it. The bed was comfortable and the little odds and ends of the old house just made me want to investigate.
If you get the opportunity to rent this house, rent it. Easily the cleanest house I have ever stayed in and most well equipped. (Keep in mind there is no air conditioning and you are near water so there bugs, moths, and critters. Last summer we were told there was a bear up the hill but we didn't see anything but bugs and birds.)
Highly recommend you rent this house, you will not be sorry! It was like a 4 star resort but better!
Without a doubt the nicest "mountain retreat" that we have discovered.
The furnishings are lovely, and the beds were excellent. I enjoy preparing special meals when relaxing and Nancy's kitchen offered every amenitiy. Was actually able to leave my personal wares in the SUV. The area is beautiful and what a treat to enjoy the wild turkeys and hummingbirds as we relaxed on the huge deck and screened porch. We have made our plans to go back for 10 days this summer and on our recommendation, our neighbors have booked a week in August.
My family and I stayed at The Treehouse last summer and thoroughly enjoyed the house and the natural beauty of the North Carolina Mountains. Despite the name it is a real house, a very well furnished and comfortable one at that. Nancy and Joe are fantastic to deal with, they really made us feel at home and everything was as they described. We have family in that area and are going back again this year and we are staying at the Treehouse.
