Beautiful St. John Villa with gorgeous island, Caribbean views and privacy

Recently spent 8 wonderful days at Sunrise Villa with my wife, 2 teens, and my father. The house was perfect for us, with two master suites separated by a living area on the main floor and the separate apartment downstairs for my Dad to get away to. The views from the deck are exactly as shown, and we spent a great deal of time outside just enjoying the view out over the East End of St John and several of the BVIs. The house is aptly named - be aware that by 7:15 each morning the sun is streaming through all the windows. Not an issue for me as I was always up to watch the sunrise, but if you like to sleep in you should be aware.

The house was very well equipped with everything we needed to explore the island - multiple coolers, many nice new beach chairs, towels, floats, etc. There are also several pairs of binoculars for use, some games, music, videos, etc.

Several reviews mentioned the road and I will admit it was probably the roughest I drove on the island, but is definitely not anything to be worried about as long as you have a 4WD vehicle for when it rains (which it did for one of our days). The worst part of the road in my opinion was the last 100 yards or so to the house as it was a very steep decline, but it was at least one of the paved parts of the road. By the end of the week I actually looked forward to driving up and down the mountain.

As for overall location, in my opinion it is one of the best parts of the island. It is about 25 - 30 minutes away from Cruz Bay in the quieter end of the island, about 10 minutes from Coral Bay. We went in to Cruz Bay once during our trip and that was enough for me. I greatly preferred the Coral Bay side and there are plenty of good dining choices within a few minutes. Shipwreck Landing was our favorite for this trip, and Cafe Concordia had the best views (along with the Tourist Trap).

Overall a FANTASTIC trip and I highly recommend Sunrise Villa.
