Welcome to our hidden oasis, Casa d'Oro, which is nestled in the gateway of the Adirondack Park overlooking Lake George. Here you will find everything to make your stay more than pleasurable.

We are minutes away from all the waterfront activities that Lake George has to offer all year round. Whether it be for a weekend festival or a week of sportive activity, you will find our villa comfortable and accommodating.

We are 2 exits south of Gore Mountain Ski Resort, 5 minutes north of West Mountain. We are also lucky enough to have a 100+ acre recreation area right down our country lane. On weekends it is open for cross country skiing, skating on the pond, sledding and winter hiking. The pool bathhouse is turned into a warming area along w/a restroom. I will furnish you w/copies of the trail system.

Take a look and hopefully you will decide to stay w/us!

As you enter Casa dÓro, you will be in the kitchen area. It has all the accoutrements you need to prepare a cordon bleu feast or just have a sandwich! There is an eat in breakfast area as well.

The stairway to the 2nd floor divides the kitchen area from the living room. It is a very relaxing spot where you can read a book, watch TV and certainly entertain! Off the living room is a full bath w/shower.

On the 2nd floor, there are 2 bedrooms--one is the Green room w/a queen size bed, dresser, TV/VCR/DVD.

On the other side of the staircase, is the master bedroom w/a king-size bed and 2 closets for your clothes as well as a TV/VCR/DVD. There is a full bath with clawfoot tub and a shower attachment.

We have a landline w/free domestic long distance as well as wireless. If need be, there is a fax machine as well as copier for your business needs.

Outside the villa on the terrace, at the end of your day you can dine by lamplight under the pergola or just simply sit around the campfire at dark. There aren't enough hours in the day for all the activities that Lake George has to offer!

Lake George is a few minutes down the mountain. We are closest to Million Dollar Beach. If you don't feel like going in the lake, there is an Olympic size pool on my road which is available to my guests.

A Treasure of a Home in Lake George!

We fell in love with this charming home as soon as we walked in. The antique and eccletic decor made it unique yet homey and comfortable at the same time. It had all the amenities needed (including coffee filters!) to make it feel like a home away from home. And the view of the lake couldn't be beat. It was a wonderful place to stay ..we were very sad to leave!
Recommended for:  Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children

A Little European Retreat in the Heart of Lake George

If you are looking for a unique lodging experience, this is the place for you. If you are looking to travel to France or Italy, but can't afford the trip, Casa d'Oro is the place for you. The old world charm of the villa provides a laid back and genteel environment that truly allows you to sit back and relax. Having said all that, all the amenities you expect in a quality vacation home are found here as well.

Lake George, just a few minutes away, is a charming and active community with more than enough to do in town or in the nearby Adirondack State Park. And, after a full day, it is very nice to retreat to the villa's mountainside location with the ambiance of nearby llamas and the view of Lake George to relax round the fire pit .

For a fabulous meal..and very well-priced for those who wish to dine early...try "George's".

If you are really into classic cars, come Labor Day week for the car show...fabulous fun!...It's like reliving your teens (for those of us of a certain age) when "cruising" Main Street was what we did on a Friday night.

You will appreciate the immaculate facilities and the friendly and knowledgeable owner and you can't beat the price for the area.

Great Stay!

My girlfriend and I had a great time in Lake George. Staying at Casa D'oro was warm and cozy. There is much interesting history surrounding the house and much of the classic furniture as well. It's just minutes away from town but still far enough to feel private and secluded. Nancy was at the house to greet us when we got there and was very nice and accomodating. I would recommend staying here for anyone looking for a romantic getaway that is different from your ordinary hotel stay.

amazing vacation, amazing place

If you are looking for all the amenities and don't want to spend a fortune, come to Casa D'Oro. The space, the surroundings, and the owner are top notch, but won't break your budget. After searching all summer for a good place away from the city (we drove in from NYC), we almost couldn't believe our eyes when we miraculously found the villa, which, to be honest, sounded too good to be true.

I live in Vancouver, BC, but my family lives in the city (NYC), and I had been looking for a place to take my mom and grandma away from the heat and commotion of the city. At the villa, we were able to hike, relax in the sun (and shade!!), grill, sit by the outdoor fire, cook breakfasts and feast on home-made dinner, and enjoy the beautiful forest surrounding the house.

We found the house clean, spacious, and very well stocked with everything we needed (and didn't need!).

We would love to return, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a little castle away from home.
