If you want to experience what life life would be like in paradise, this is the place to stay. The casita, with a veranda that covers every side of the house, sits on a hilltop from which I could see the sun rise behind St. Thomas in the morning and set over Cayo Luis Pena at night. A shower of stars covers the night sky and the breezes blowing in from the east eliminate any need for air conditioning or fans. The house, built in the Spanish style, is comfortable, cozy and very private -- a great place to read, write and find peace of mind. It is also within five to ten minutes of anything you might want to see and do in Culebra, which isn't much because the whole point of going to Culebra is to do nothing but share in the grandeur of nature. Although I sampled as much of the island as I could, including its many beaches,its food, its art, its literature and its wonderful people, there were whole days when simply sitting in the casita and contemplating its glorious views was more than enough to fill my soul. I will be back.

Owner's Response: When one visits Culebra with an open mind, it is probably the closest place to truly visiting paradise. It is a special place to reflect on how wonderful life is. It is a simple, uncomplicated lifestyle that make you take notice of everything around you.
