SPECTACULAR WATERFRONT LOG CABIN W/ SANDY BEACH (100')

Wakefield Cabin Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, sleeps up to 15, Private Sandy Beach, Outdoor Hot Tub

Lovely lakefront log cabin home in picturesque Wakefield, NH with 100' sandy beach, on a peaceful cove on clean 700 acre Balch Lake. Three (3) private bedrooms (all with queen beds), a downstairs 'kids kabin' with 3 daybeds with trundle beds sleeping 6 (or more if needed w/ add'l. mattresses available), 2 1/2 baths, with two propane fireplaces, an outdoor hot tub, a covered outdoor deck looking out over the lake with a Weber gas grill, & a Tiki hut on our private sandy beach.

In the summer, come and enjoy the peaceful sounds of the loons, as well as canoeing, kayaking, sailing, fishing, jet skiing, motor boating or simply swimming in the clear lake water. Our lake features a full service marina. Sit on the beach or the dock relaxing and taking in the sun, or playing bocce on the beach. A top rated golf course (Province Lake Golf course) is only 10 minutes away. In the evenings, make a fire on the beach and roast marshmallows under the starry nights!

In the winter, wonderful sledding in the back yard, ice skating on the lake, or snowmobiling trails through the area, as well as numerous ski resorts within as little as a 25 minute drive of our cabin.

And year round, the outdoor hot tub is a wonderful place to relax and talk with your family or friends.

Open to Vacation Exchanges: We love to travel -- my wife Donna of 26 years, our two daughters (ages 17 and 13) and perhaps our oldest daughter (who is currently in college and not able to travel as much). We love warm locales (Hawaii, Florida, California as well as Europe. We can also do non-simultaneous exchanges.

Amazing ski trip and getaway for the weekend!

A few of us (12), decided on a last minute getaway and ski trip for the weekend, ,and this cabin was perfect. With all 12 of us, there was still plenty of space for people to sleep. The cabin was extremely cozy and homey, and more spacious then expected.

During the day we skied/snowboarded, at night we came to relax in the cabin and in the hot tub. From the cabin/deck there is a beautiful view of the frozen lake, and the hill was perfect for sledding.

The cabin was a little far from the main road and highway, which was perfect for us since we were looking for an isolated spot away from city life, being from Boston.

The only minor problem which we ran into, which Stephen forewarned us about, was the snowy/icy driveway. It definitely helps to have 4 wheel drive, but not impossible without it.

It was a pleasure working with Stephen. He responded quickly to calls, texts, and emails. He gave thorough information and instructions, and gave us a ring to check up on us on the night of our arrival. He was enthusiastic in helping us plan our trip, and ensured that everything in the cabin exceeded our expectations. We would definitely work with Stephen again in the future.

This cabin is amazing! Great for all seasons. It has a beautiful view of the lake and is very cozy. Stephen, the owner, was extremely helpful and made out trip super easy! We had a big group of 12 people and we did not feel crowded at all. The cabin was very spacious and clean. It has all the basics you'll need. We really enjoyed the hot tub outdoors. The area is also fantastic! There were markets close by and everyone there was super friendly! I strongly recommend this cabin to anyone. We would love to come back for a summer.

The cabin was absolutely beautiful And very homey. There was quite a few of us. About 16 counting kids. We didn't feel crowded or over stuffed. It's a huge property. The lake was awesome. Tried to go fishing but failed horribly. Took the kayak and canoe out. It's a pretty.

The house was very accommodating. Had everything we need. Hot tub was fun. Stephen left some foam solution. So we turned the hot tub into a giant hot bubble bath.

We had a few problems with the lights but Stephen was quick to help. The neighbor was pretty close but we Didn't have an issue with them. If there was a downfall, I would say the drive up to the cabin. The roads get very loopy and I easily get motion sickness. So if you are like me, remember to take a motion sickness pill.lol

Overall everything was awesome. we had a great time. We will definitely be coming back and telling everyone we know about this property.

** PERFECT **

I booked this cabin at the end of the summer as a last hoorah before the fall kicked into full swing. There were 10 of us and the cabin fit everyone and could even accommodate a few more if needed. We had a blast enjoying the sun on the private beach during the day and grilling up some lunch. We also took the canoes and kayak out on the lake. At night we had fire's on the beach and enjoyed the hot tube. It was a perfect weekend.
Stephen was very helpful, nice, and easy to reach for questions. The welcome pack that you receive before your stay was very helpful. The property was very clean and accommodating. There is plenty of space for a large group. I really liked the layout of the property with the beach set off from the house and minimal neighbors around (private for the most part).
I would recommend this property to others. I book a trip with my friends every summer. We usually switch it up and rent different houses each summer, but I am definitely going to keep this house in mind. :)

Fantastic weekend!

We were lucky enough to spend a fantastic weekend here. The quite cove was a wonderful place for our group to get together and really enjoy a weekend away from everything. There is plenty of spots to sleep and plenty of blankets and pillows for everyone. The location was great being that it is relatively close to Boston and if there is anything you've forgotten or if you want a night out you can do so without driving a long way. The owner was also fantastic. He was organized, informative, and quick to respond to all my inquiries. I would both recommend the place to anyone and would gladly stay there again in the future.

We are set on a quiet cove on Balch Lake, away from all the boating noise. Easy access to main part of the crystal clear lake, where there is great jet skiing, tubing, swimming and fishing. There is only 1 home close by, but our beach is very private and secluded. There are no beaches across the cove, as those homes have no beach front areas at all. So, you can feel comfortable just tanning or relaxing on the beach or the dock or floating in the lake on a tube, imbibing your favorite drink.

Once done with all the outdoor activities (be it in the sun or on the mountains), we have a wonderful 6 person outdoor hot tub that is available year round. Nothing like it after a hard day of skiing the blues or blacks on the mountains in the crisp, NH winter air or after a tough day out on the water or beach, swimming and tanning. Great way to unwind.

We are 45 minutes from the Portsmouth Circle and very easy to get to up Rte 16; just under 2 hours from downtown Boston. Once here, we have space for 5-6 cars to park down at the cabin. We also have a 2 car garage up the hill, which is used more for storage, although lots of parking there as well, if needed. We have over an acre of land on our property.

2 convenience stores 5 minutes in either direction on Rte 153. Large Hannaford's grocery store 15 minutes away in Ossipee. Poor People's Pub is a nice local bar and pretty good food as well -- 10 minutes away in downtown Wakefield. Miss Wakefield's Diner and Hen House are 10 and 5 minutes away - both serve fantastic breakfasts if you do not want to cook (great pancakes, omelettes, et al).

Other Activities: Boating, canoeing, kayaking, jet skiing --- all available on our lake. Local marina allows people to bring in their own boats. We provide canoe and kayak and some flotation devices to use. Our private beach is nice and sandy and approx. 100' long. Nice and gradual slope for little children. And you can jump off our dock into the lake. We are located in a nice, tranquil cove which does not get much boat traffic, so nice and quiet. Great to just jump on a flotation device and grab some rays with a drink of your choosing (we have a refrigerator in our tiki hut on the beach). And nothing better than building a fire on the beach at night under the stars next to the water.

Golf: Province Lake -- 10 minutes away on Rte 153 North; great course in wonderful shape

Indian Mound -- 20 minutes away on Rte 16 North; nice course

Kingswood -- 25 minutes away in Wolfeboro

Ski: King Pine -- 25 minutes away; great family mountain.

Cranmore -- 50 minutes away; more challenging

Attitash -- 65 minutes away; two great peaks

Wildcat and Black Mountain -- 70 minutes

Shawnee Peak -- 75 minutes
