Les Marres sits in the valley below Gordes surrounded by fields of grapes, vegetables, fruit, lavender, and wheat. The yard is large, containing an orchard of 30 fruit trees, a swimming pool and deck, an English garden, and ample parking. A nine foot Cedar hedge surrounds the property providing privacy, but allowing views of nearby Gordes and the foothills of Mount Ventoux.
The house is made of local rock with walls 2-3 feet thick and a red tile roof. It is the end unit of a “mas”, and there are adjoining houses on the West only. Doors on 3 sides of the house lead into a large room that contains a small office space, a dining room area, a central living room area with a fireplace, and a kitchen. Off the kitchen is a pantry/laundry room containing a dishwasher, a washer and dryer, a large refrigerator, and ample room for food storage. The floor is tile. The decoration and furniture are country French style. There is plenty of light from large French windows looking out onto a covered patio on the South side. There is also a half bathroom and a large closet.
On the second floor are 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms all with tile floors. The third floor has 2 double beds and ample storage space. There is plenty of light from 2 skylight/windows.

I am a surgeon who loves the French lifestyle. I have owned the house for nearly 15 years and spent 2 months per year there on the average. I have enjoyed the location for the tranquility, the opportunities for outdoor activities, the charm of the community, the great food and beautiful sights. The cycling in this area is world famous and can be very addictive.

Warm, dry, sunny weather. Quiet, beautiful environment. Good local infrastructure: restaurants, touristic sights, open markets daily, wineries every few kilometers. This area has just enough tourism to support the local services, but not enough to be crowded.
