Best Ski Vacation House

We just returned from a fabulous ski vacation at Shanty Creek, and one of the best things about our trip was where we stayed. We loved, loved the chalet! It truly felt like our home away from home and not at all like a rental. The chalet is new and well-kept. There are flat screen TVs in every room, and DVD players in all but one. And while the TVs in the bedrooms and den are small, we hardly noticed. There is also a big DVD collection with something for everyone. For a winter vacation, the attached garage was a godsend and having a full laundry room was tremendous. We were a party of 6 adults and 1 teenager, so there were plenty of beds. We could have slept 3 more in beds and then there was the pullout in the den and then many other foldout options. There were also tons of blankets. The chalet stayed nicely heated, and we never ran out of hot water. And one of our favorite things about the chalet was the outdoor fire pit. We had a gathering one night for friends and family, and it was a big hit. The one thing that the chalet doesn’t have is an indoor fireplace, and while it would be a nice addition, we didn’t really miss it. In short, the property was as described above and better. We all loved it! We hope to stay at the chalet again on our next visit!
