Wonderful stay!!

  • 5 of 5
We have stayed at this cabin before and will again. It has a very comfortable rustic feel about it. The cabin is clean and has everything that you need. We love the fact that it is walking distance to the entrance of Mt. Rainer and you can hear the water from the river at the cabin. Plus no cell phone service! We love coming up just to relax and get away from the rush of life and deadlines!

There is a nice fire pit area outside to roast marshmellows. Plus a covered area to eat outside. There is plently of firewood for both indoors and outdoors.

We really enjoyed our stay and will be going up again! Thank you!

Not a luxury cabin, but a cozy log cabin.

  • 3 of 5
The cabin was well equipped with everything we needed to cook all of our meals - pots, pans, dishes, toaster, coffee maker, and even a blender. The electric skillet did not work, but there were enough options that we were well equipped. The downstairs area of the cabin is essentially one large room and a bathroom. The kitchen area is well lit with a fluorescent light, and the living room area has three ceiling mounted spot lights that can be aimed where you choose. The "dining room" area was not well lit and we solved the problem by simply moving the table to the kitchen area, where we were able to play games and assemble puzzles.

The staircase looks home made (of logs and half logs) and can be somewhat treacherous if you are not careful, though my kids (aged 21, 20, 16, 15) loved it.

The upstairs consists of one large area, with panel walls creating two bedrooms and an open loft area. The "doors" to the "bedrooms" are curtains. So there really is no sound barrier at all between the upstairs "rooms". There were plenty of sheets and blankets and pillows, and the beds were reasonably comfortable, though one of the queen beds sagged in the middle causing my two daughters to roll into each other during the night.

As for cleanliness, the one thing that bothered me most was the rugs that were in the dining room, the living room and the bathroom. They are shag rugs where the shag consists of long strips of leather. We lost a puzzle piece in one of those shag rugs. They are not the kind of rugs that invite you to sit on them. But for most people, the rugs are probably not an issue. The other thing that we disliked was the amount of clutter about the cabin. We had to move a bit of clutter in order to have any place to put our groceries.

In spite of these slight negatives, we had a grand time at the cabin. There is covered parking, a large yard, a dart board on the side of the carport, a wood burning stove inside and a fire pit outside, (all the wood is supplied) a covered picnic table, and you have direct access to some wonderful walking paths along the river, as well as the fact that you are but a few feet from the entrance to Mount Rainier Park. We had a fire every day (both inside and out) and roasted marshmallows and sang Christmas carols around the fire (in the rain). There are games and movies and even a rocking horse for young kids. We were cozy and warm and the cabin has a wonderful, rustic, log cabin feel to it.

Just what the girls needed!

  • 5 of 5
We chose this cabin to have a girls retreat. It was absolutely perfect.
The cabin has a homey, rustic charm while still maintaing creature comforts. Very clean, comfortable and well appointed. We felt that the needs of the guest had been well provided for. It had all the modern conviences(stove, coffee pot ect..), but still felt rustic and woodsy at the same time. Its in a little neighborhood so you dont feel entirely isolated, yet the other homes nearby are far enough apart you dont feel like there is a lack of privacy. The deer came right up to us in the yard and let us feed them. We enjoyed walking the path up to the river and checking out the cute rock sculptures people had made with the river rocks. There were little paths in the wooded area next to the cabin with benches which are perfect for group photos. There were four generations of ladies in our group, and there was something for everyone. Our 4 year old was entertained by the toys in the "kids" room and enjoyed running around in the back yard. The older ladies in our group enjoyed sitting on the porch and just drinking coffee and hanging out. We certainly will plan on returning again!
