This gorgeous 2400 sq.ft.,3 bdr. 2 1/2 bath Mt. Home is centrally located in the 'Heart of Color Country' and surrounded by the Dixie National Forest. It is located in Elk Ridge Estates, the most prestigous mountain community in Southern Utah. Elk Ridge is known for their large 5 acre lots, to assure everyone their privacy. Bryce and Zion is a 40 min drive either way. Navajo and Panguitch lake are a 20 min drive. We are surrounded with ATV trails, fishing holes and easy access to just about anything you enjoy in the mountains. Best of all, you are sure to see Elk, Deer and Turkey abound. This Mt. home is in a year round subdivision with nicely snow plowed roads. Also, your sure to have no dust in the Summer season, as this is a paved community.

We make it easy! You can drive your vehicle into a heated/cooled extra large 2 car garage. Greatly accessed to the home. There's an extra freezer in the garage should you need it for an extra long stay.

With Lake Powell and the north rim of the Grand Canyon within a day-trip distance, there is no shortage of natural pursuits as well as entertaining activities: Ride ATVs or snowmobiles on the 500+ miles of marked trails nearby, fish in the many area lakes, take a relaxing horseback trail ride, hike, bike, climb, take a back-country 'safari' tour, explore the canyons of Lake Powell by boat, take a guided educational class at Zion, visit and volunteer at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, attend the Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City, visit the interesting little shops in Duck Creek Village and Kanab, or just take some 'downtime' at home.

The Living/Dining/Kitchen is spaciously designed for your down time of just hanging out, cooking, eating, playing games or just having great family time. All of the bedrooms and living room have ceiling fans to assure you the comfort you deserve. There are lots of windows so you don't miss the wildlife and 5 recliners to relax, enjoying a fire in the fireplace or maybe just taking in a great movie. For you baseball fans, not to worry....we have the MLB package, so you won't miss a game of your favorite team.

Fall Season...... the gorgeous color change of the leaves is a sure thing to talk about! Also, don't miss the opportunity of playing in Utah's snow, well known as 'The Greatest Snow on Earth'. Holidays fill up quick, so don't hesitate. Reserve your nights for that special family vacation in Utah's 'Winter Wonderland'.

Conveniently located on the East side of the home is a firepit!

You can enjoy roasting hotdogs or marshmalloooows!!! The roasted marshmallows make the BEST roasted dessert, S'Mores!!!! (graham cracker, chocolate, roasted marshmallows). Just put the chocolate and roasted marshmallow between the graham cracker and it makes a great sandwich dessert. MM.. Goooood! You'll never forget it!

There is an international airport in Las Vegas and Salt Lake City. Cedar City has a regional airport as well. Las Vegas and Salt Lake are both linked with Interstate 15 with an Exit to Cedar City. It's just a short 40 minutes on a beautiful scenic drive up the Mt. on Highway 14 to our Mt. home.

Should you happen to forget something, there is Tod's Country Store store 1/2 mile away that has alot. Groceries, gas, gifts, liquor, beer, wine, ice, soft serve icecream and a self-serve grill to cook your hamburger or steak sandwich to YOUR perfection!! On Saturday mornings during the Summer months in Tod's Country Stores' parking lot, there is a great Farmers Market and Fatty's Barbeque.

Come visit, you won't be disappointed!

PERFECT LOCATION & BEAUTIFUL HOME

PERFECT LOCATION & BEAUTIFUL HOME

We are just completing our last 24 hours in this incredible home. We cannot recommend this house and it's location enough. We easily were able to skip on down or up the road to Zion and Bryce. The house is right off of the 89 and thus makes it so darn simple to get to all of the parks/monuments in southern Utah.

The house was amazing...my husband was at a loss for words upon first entering the "GREAT" room. He usually has one or more complaints about the rentals I secure for our trips...not with this house. We both just kept going on and on about the view from all windows and when I say all windows I mean it as there are windows in every single square foot of this house. We were so impressed with the house and the surrounding area that we looked into possibly buying a vacation home, but since we live in southern California; we are not sure we would use the home enough. This has been one memorable trip and the lovely home added to and enhanced our vacation experience immensely.

Beautiful Cabin in the mountains

5 of 5
Submitted: March 6, 2013 Stayed: February 2013
I am so glad we accidentally stumbled across this cabin and decided to book. The booking process was as easy as could be. Responses were quick and contract was simple. The kitchen was stocked with every thing we could need (except for a working can opener which I think I read in another review and forgot to bring ours). 2 rolls of TP were provided per bathroom which was fine for the two of us for 5 days but if you are planning on staying longer with more people, bring more. Washer and dryer worked great! Plenty of towels for kitchen and bathrooms provided. Fireplace in master bedroom was delightful! The view was great from every room in the house. I do wish there were window coverings in at least the bedroom and bathroom because we felt a bit exposed but I don't think anyone could see in since the cabin was so far from the road. There also wasn't an ice maker but when it was 12 degrees out all we could think about was hot tea... not ice, so it wasn't a problem for us. Not having direct TV in the master bedroom was not a problem for me but for my husband who needs to fall asleep to TV he was bummed.

The closest "big" city we found was Cedar City and you MUST go eat at Centro Woodfired Pizzeria there. It's about an hour drive and worth every bite. The gas station on the corner has most things but we also found a great little grocery store in Orderville, Terry's Food & Drug. We went to Bryce and Zion and they were both AMAZING! Bryce was BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

We can't wait to come back in the summer!!

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your stay at our cabin. I am so glad that you enjoyed the beauty as much as we do. That is in fact why we do not have window coverings on most of the windows so that it does not take away from the view. The cabin is located in a remote area and you will not have to worry about other people seeing you. I apologize that the can opener did not work very well...we did replace it since we were told that it didn't work well before. We will definitely be getting "another" one. The TV in the master bedroom was a new addition that we added to the cabin a week prior to this arrival. I apologize that we were unable to provide you Direct TV for your stay in the master bedroom however, it is now added and ready for the next renters. Due to several water problems that we have had with renters and the ice maker we will be offering complementary ice bags at our Chevron station 1/2 mile away.

Constantly thinking about returning

5 of 5
Submitted: August 24, 2012 Stayed: April 2012
Happy memories: Watching deers grazing in the backyard, laying on the twin bed stargazing at Big Dipper framed by the bedroom window, stargazing outside the house around 2AM(?) and glad I did it because it got cloudy the next night, big smiles on everyone’s faces …

We stayed at this beautiful vacation cabin on our road trip to Zion and Bryce canyons almost exactly four months ago but thinking about it today still brings a smile to my face.

This is a spacious, well designed, beautifully landscaped, and beautifully decorated house. It is just off Hwy 89 between Zion and Bryce canyons, very easy to get to and the scenery along 89 was beautiful and the pavement was in great condition. We stayed there from 4/29-5/1. The weather was sunny but cool, great for outdoor activities. Our group of seven consisted of me, my 80-year old mom, my uncle and aunt, their son, his wife and their 2-year old boy. My uncle and aunt are seasoned world travelers and not easily impressed but all of us fell in love with this house the moment we arrived. The owners have great taste and take pride in what they have to offer to the guests. The house was very clean and looks even nicer than in the pictures.

We loved everything about the house: the surroundings, the architect, the landscaping, the gourmet kitchen, the spa tub in the master bedroom, … I can go on and on. But a few features that we really liked are: having four different-sized beds ((king, queen, full, twin one each) in three bedrooms allowing all seven of us to sleep comfortably, washer and dryer, two and a half bathrooms, and the spaciousness. We were able to relax and enjoy preparing meals even after a day’s outing.

The whole experience was nice from day 1 when Amanda responded to my inquiry in less than half an hour. I was immediately impressed and Amanda remained responsive, pleasant, and helpful before, during, and after our stay. I had many questions and Amanda responded to all of them quickly and patiently with the information I needed.

We had a great time and just wished we had stayed a couple more days. I will certainly recommend this listing. I constantly think about returning with friends and family. My next trip will be longer and include “Do-Nothing” days so we can enjoy and relax in this beautiful retreat!

Beautiful Home in Wonderful part of Utah

4 of 5

This was a Beautiful Home and very comfortable. Very clean, nicely decorated.

Although we were looking forward to being away from it all, this home sits about 1000' from state hwy 89. The noise from the cars and trucks was really annoying and gave the feeling when outside you really weren't away from it all. The noise couldn't be heard from inside, but we wanted to sit out and enjoy the view, wildlife and thunderstorms. We just got the traffic noise to go along with itl, granted this stretch of Hwy is not highly traveled and after about 8PM almost no one drove on it.

The Ice Maker was still OS as in pervious posts, but the dishwasher broke the day before we arrived and there was a repairman to fix as soon as we arrived. The place is in need of a modern, working can opener, so bring your own if your gonna open more than on can. There was also no cutting board, but the owner did bring by a small 10" x 10" that didn't really help when cutting a roast and ribs.

There are also no window coverings on any of the bedroom and living area windows, which is not a big deal because of the hill top location and I didn't care to close off the views, it does cut your morning sleep at sunrise. All in all, this was a wonderful place and aside from the noise when your outdoors from traffic and the minor need of some kitchen necessities mentioned we would have given this one 5 stars.

The location is excellent to all the sites and activites in the area, Bryce Cyn NP and Zion NP. Panguitch Lake, and Severe River for fishing. This was are main reason for the stay at this location. That fact that Deer and Elk walked up the house at all hours of the day was an added bonus.

The contact I had with the property owner/manager was always prompt and courtious. Reservations and paymnet was a breeze, so no problems there.

We have rented many vacation rentals, and this home has become our gold standard. This is a long review, but it has info that might be helpful in choosing a vacation rental. I highly recommend renting this home. It is beautiful, clean, spacious, comfortable and with the perfect layout. After a long day of hiking/visiting Bryce, we could kick off our dusty shoes in either the garage or in the mud room. Since the mud room is the first room from the garage, we could hang our hats and coats, drop our gear, throw our dirty clothes directly into the laundry, which is adjacent to the mud room, and wash up a bit in the 1/2 bath, which is also next to the mud room.

The kids would bath in the spacious tub/shower, then comfortably recline in the couch reclincers in the living room. We saw deer and baby rabbits nearly everyday, which was a delight for the kids. The adults appreciated the privacy and the beautiful view. It was quiet and relaxing, and the stars shined brightly because there is very little light pollution in the area.

The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook, is not always the case in vacation rentals. We did not have to be creative to make do with what was present, and the knives were sharp, which every cook appreciates. There was plenty of space to put things away.

The owners were very helpful, very nice and responsive.

We felt like we were living in a dream home. When we come back to visit Bryce and Zion, we will stay here.
